very good, i cant wait for more. please update soon! very ingenius of you to weave this tale together, i have searched long for a story of erik that seemed probable in which has a happy ending. one question though, how did he get onto the boat to Haiti at all? maybe you already explained it, but if u did i forgot, lol.

This is a terrific story -- brilliant writing, an original plot, and it's completely engrossing. I would love to read more of it. It would be great if you'd post it on Aria as well (aria.phoenixfyre.net), as a lot of people who do not come here regularly, myself included, would enjoy your story there!

I have been reading your Harry Potter fics for quite some time now, and I was surprised (and delighted!) to read this story as well, seeing as I am a big POTO fan! Very nice take on the story: Having Erik "recovering" somehow from his pitiable state is an interesting theme, but most of these stories tend to lose realism and idealize the situtations and the characters after a while. I am very pleased to say this is not the case this time. Great start, great characters, great plot (even with only three chapters). I do hope you will continue this story.

So far I have only gotten through half of chapter one but I'm hooked. I am impressed by your knowledge of the Leroux Phantom. I hope you plan on continuing this as it is a very good read. The lure of the Phantom is sweetly seductive and he has had my heart from the first time I read the book. Mon Ange de Musique!

"...the Phantom came to Haiti"...What a brilliant ending line to a chapter. It sounds so odd in my head when taken out of context. :) I'm definitely happy that you wrote this. This is the first fic I've read that didn't describe Erik's burning sensuality or dark physical appeal and so on and so forth. Not that I don't appreciate those kinds of fics...I mean, I'm a big E/C shipper now. But, it's refreshing to read one that describes him in such a human way. I like it! I look forward to more!!!

What a fascinating take on Erik's story!! I love the fact that this is written from his POV, because I can read his feelings about his transformation and interactions with these people. It's so new and unusual, and I love it!! I look forward to more!!!
