Thanks for this great story and the unexpected, very surprising outcome! I never expected a closing like that, but I'm impressed no less. I had something to say about Dalamar being too submisive, but all my objections vanished after reading the last part. You don't know it, but reading this late at night compensates for a tedious day. Very well done!

Wow... I cannot imagine what power Raistlin must have over Dalamar for the elf to be "willing" to renounce to his magic and part of his lifetime (life, so venerated by elves! And magic, the only thing Dalamar loves above everything else!) and give them to his shalafi. And what a cruel and merciless Raistlin have you managed to create! Bravo! He's the most evil and odious Raistlin I've read about!

I'm also curious about that insistence of Raistlin's about Dalamar trying to spellcast... especially since Fistandantilus' spell supposedly transferred that ability to the recipient... Um, your Raistlin has some seemlingly soft moments for which he retaliates viciously... or are they merely feigned and used as an excuse to punish Dalamar even more?

I look forward to see whether poor Dalamar will be able to escape his master's clutches or will die (or worse) being his thrall.

Oh, cruel fate. Somehow I'm glad that the spell didn't work properly. But that means that the oerdeal is not over yet. I loved the comparism with Chrysania and Caramon. But knowledge doesn't seem to help either. Poor Dalamar. Now you've got me terribly curious about the aging issue.
How can Raistlin be that cold hearted? Man, there must be a sparkle of pity somewhere? Or at least a tiny bit of gratitude... But I fear, you're probably closer to the real Raistlin than most of us...
