This has been a pretty good story so far. I look forward to any new chapters. And I realized that for the black servants they'd have an accent. And with how you have Ummi she sounds accurate enough. Oh and on chapter ten i think erik extinguished the match not distinguished it right?

Glad you finally updated...I've been waiting! But don't check as regularly cos every time have to give me signature (sigh). Too short! Please write more soon...so Ummi notices and told her...interesting! Was worried about the farmer boy, but no more. where was daddy going? and what was Erik doing out riding?

I love this story...what update list? Do you have one? Or is this posted at ffnet? Please let me know! I can't believe after a whole month of checking (after I first found this story after your early sept post) I forgot and missed this chapter! Can't wait for more...still hoping that christing and raoul make it to america some day...would love for them to see erik happy and eventually with this american spirit :)

I think it's good that Erik has overheard the converstion between Madison and her father. Erik now knows what he is up against and why Madison is so hostile.
Madison's father did say that she could marry anyone she wanted. She just needs to find someone she wants to marry and then she won't mind getting married.
