This is adorable! I laughed straight the way through. I loved Holmes' bluff concerning the emeralds and his deep dark secret of having a normal childhood! You write them both so very well. I was halfway through reading this before I realized how similar our titles are! (Yes, somewhere the Great Detective is laughing at me.) Completely unintentional, I swear it. Perhaps you have started the Absent Avian Series.

Thank you for the delightful story. Sherlock Holmes is a great favorite of mine. I have the complete works and all the Brett DVDs and the Rathbone VHS movies. I see the intimate companionship of the two men as a very natural extension of the established literature, even if Conan Doyle may not have meant it that way. I enjoyed your style and their 'voices' were true to the characters.

Thank you again for your lovely story and excellent writing.
