Notes:
1) Alice will not be in this fic but the main character will often be mistaken for her
2) I sugesst reading some of "Rainbow Guard" to get an idea of what led to this story

1) The Nightmare Begins
Princess Lemon

When the attack occured, Princess Lime was in the village with her friends. The group of three girls and two boys were in the Botanical Gardens when the demons swamred the town and a a portal opened nearby.

"What is that?" a red haired and blue eyes girl in green asked.
"A portal...one of mother's portals," Lime said, surprised.
"Then it means you have to leave," said a boy with brown hair and brown eyes.
"No, this means mother's in trouble. I have to stay," Lime retorted.
"No! If the queensent a portal that means she needs you to be safe, now go!" the other boy said.
"Make me!" Lemon screeched just as some of the windows broke and the group could hear scuffling.
"Lemon, you are an heir to the throne. You musrvivrvive," an whitw haired and blue eye girl said.

'Lime, it's not forever,' a femakle voice said in the back of her head.
'Mother?' Lime thought.
'Yes,. Listen, your brother is going to find the cupids. You must leave and stay safe, now go!' her mouther shouted and with that final word Lime was shoved into the silver portal. Lime's mouth opened into a silent gasp as she tumbled through the shinning silver portal as it drew her furthur and furthur away from her home...then out of the blue, she was reminded of the Alice in Wonderland stories she used to read as a child.

'Why do I feel like I'm like Alice all of a sudden?' Lime thought. This was a very odd thought though for Lime didn't look like Alice...at the moment at least. Lime is the twin sister is Princess Lemon but Lime had shoulder length lime green hair pulled back into two braids and matching colored eyes. She's around 5 ft and 3 in tall with pale clear skin and the same figure as the Alice in the Disney movie but Lime is obviously older since her body is more filled out in certin places. Also she was wearing a pair of black leather pants with a tank top, lime green tak top under a denim button up that was tied up in the front and the sleves were torn off.

But this was soon to change for the moment this thought had run its course in her mind, the portal changed from silver that a alternating black and white pattern. The sudden change in light made the princess quint her eyes as she felt her braids coming undone and a warmth wash over her body, a strange warmth that seemed to make her feel naked for some reason. Yet this sensation soon passed and Lime's eyes had adjusted to the light. She couldn't tell weaither she was falling up or down anymore but all she knew was that her speed had increased and she she could see the end of the tunnle rapidly approaching her from above. Lime quickly swung her body around and was able to fall feet first through the portal opening. Yet rather than a normal slip through or water like rippling, the portal acted as if she was falling through a mirror and shattered all around her as she fell through.

Lime lifted her arms to protect her face and closed her eyes as gravity yanked her out of the portal and threw her down in the middle of a giant feild that looked very much like a giant chess feild. It took a moment for the world to stop spinning before Lime was finally able to lifr her head and look around without that wonderful spining sensation.

"Where in the Nine Hells am I?" Lime mused aloud to herself as she got up as far as her knees to look around at her odd suroundings. On top of the checkboard feilds there were of course the trees of various sizes and breeds were scattered all around her. It was almost like VanGough designed the whole thing while he was on LSD or something...did they have crack back then?

'I wonder if VanGough was on drugs or something when he made this place,' Lime through to herself.

"There! You there! Young lady!" called out a voice and LIme looked over her shoulder to see a knight dressed in full white armor heading towards her on a white horse. Needless to say, with the sun shining just right behind him, he did indeed looking very stunning and if this was a Anime Lime would be drooling with those hearts in her eyes.

'Oh! Has it finally happened? Has my ce oce on a white horse finally arrived to whisk me away to his castle and..' Lime began to think as she got all starry eyed and held her face with both her hands.

"Look out!" the white knight called out. Lime blinked her eyes twice in confussion and looked the other way to see another knight, this one in black, thundering towards her. She let out a small shrif frf fright as she scrambled out of the way and to the safety of a nearby tree. There, she watched as the two knights ducked it out in the feild and, of course, she cheered on for the white knight as they first dueled with lances. Yet this soon moved onto sword fighting when their wooden lances were smashed into toothpicks by the others sheilds...toothpicks that fell down to make minature log cabins might I add.

Lime didn't notice this interesting little event for her starry eyes were glued on the white knight as she continued to cheer him on as he beat the shit out of the black knight who was soon making a hasty retreat by first going for his horse and beating a path the same way he first came onto the feild.

"And let that be a lesson to you!" the white knight called out after the black knight as Lime came out of hiding and quickly approached him.

"Sir Knight, thank you ever so much for saving me from that scundrel," Lime said, the appreciation ozzeing from her like water as she smiled at him.

"No need to thank me little girl, svae you from that pedifile ie lee least I could do," the knight said. Once again, Lime blinked her eyes twice in confusion.

"Child?" she asked.
"Do you not remember your own age? When last I saw thee, thou wast merely a young girl," the knight said.

"How dare you insult me by calling me a child! Do you have any idea who the hell I am!?" Lime exlcaimed and the knight jerked in surprise at this rant.

"My dear Alice, I should think that you are to young to be using such foul language," the knight said.

"Alice! Listen bub! My name is Lime, Princess Lime and I'm no mere child. I am of age and..." the princess started to yell but it all went through one ear and out the other...well, all except for two words.

"Of age?!" the kngiht exclaimed.

Author: *heavy sigh*

"Yes, I am well past the age of 18 and..." the princess started up again but stopped as the knight reached up to take off his helment. She almost held her breath in anticipation of seeing the hansome face of her rescuer, but the proverbiale ground gave way beneath her feet when she found her beloved white knight was nothing more than an old man.

"What! You're an elderly man!" Lime gasped out of shock.
"Yes, I am," the knight retorted almost bitterly but he pulled a total 360 on his mood as he kneeled before her.

"Oh beautiful Alice, would thoust come with to share my bed with me and be my wife?" the knight asked.

"Why you..." Lime said, the anger building in her with each second that passed, "dirty old man!" she screached and upper cut the knight so hard that he was soon sailing through the air and landed over a hundred miles away in a cloud of dust. Lime clapped her hands together and began to turn on heel to leave but was distracted by a glint out of the corner of her eye. Lime looked to see that the white knight's horse was still there and a silver sheild hung off the side of the sadle. Curious as to why the knight thought her to be Alice, Lime walked over to the sheild and found that the polished silver acted as a very suitable mirror...which quickly revealed the truth to her.

Her hair had in deed been released from the braids and left to flow freely around her head while some of it was kept out of her face by a black head band. Her cloths had been traded out for Alice's dress...but except for it being the pretty blue color, her dress was the same shade as a peice of lime fruit.

"Oh dear god...this is so horrid. Who's idea of a joke is this?" Lime asked but no one answered her. Lime rolled her eyes and let out a heavy sigh as she attempted to use her powers to try and change the color of the dress. But in the end, all she was able to do was change it to a nice hunter green color. Lime shrugged at this, accepting that this was a much better color than the original pukey color.

"Oh well, this will have to do...for now. Guess I better get moving before that dirty old man returns," Lime said and the horse snorts as he appeared to nod in agrrement. Lime looked around at her surroundings and found a road.

"Hey, looks like my luck is looking up," Lime said happily as she dashed happily to the road and followed it into the woods...

But little did she know, things were only going to get down hill from there...
