To Sin

Author's Note: w00t I read this book in my English class. Anyway, we were discussing how Hester and Dimmesdale might of began having an affair. Someone suggested “Maybe Dimmesdale fell off his pew and landed on Hester one too many times.” This struck me as incredibly hot. Though that isn't a summary of what happens here, I'd like to thank my English class for giving me this inspiration. This is a theory of how they had their affair, and takes place before the book. Oh, just as a joke I included some of the words that were on our vocabulary list. XP x.X; I'm such a loser, but I'm cool like that.
DISCLAIMER: I did not write the scarlet Letter, to do so I would have to be very old. I just think Dimmesdale is really hot.

To Sin: Chapter 1

"To sin..."

The young minister looked out upon the throngs who filled the chapel. Each face looked at him with unwavering attention.

"It is unforgivable if hidden. But God shall forgive his children whom come forward with their deadly secrets."

His voice echoed throughout the hollow edifice, all eyes on his elegant form.

Amongst the collective mass, there was one unique soul. A Mary-like woman, whose beauty shone through the crowd, Hester Prynne.

The preacher laid his dark eyes upon her, but quickly looked away, rejecting the emotions that followed as a repercussion.

"At times He may find it necessary to strike down humans for acts of sin and evil. At times He may leave this responsibility in the hands of lowly souls like ourselves. But we must remember these are strikes of love. He strikes us so that we may repent and enter the pearly gates of heaven."

The puritan's voice naturally became more vibrant and strong as he said this, causing a standing ovation to ripple through the crowd. As he surveyed his admiring watchers he could not help but find himself exchanging a glance with Hester Prynne. Her features were soft and gentle, pleasing and smooth, unlikely the course rugged looking gossips. Dark hair fell behind her shoulders, its gossamer tone contrary to the dull death like colors of the other worshippers. But, in Dmmesdale's mind once thing she held was greater than all of these things. Unlike the solemn grimace that stood upon the common face, on her face sat a smile.
