~Dark Salvation~

Prologue - Hunter lieing in shadow..

Dark eyes watched the vampires below. They narrowed, the sight of the vampire's true form making full lips curl in disgust. The figure remained poised up in the dense foliage of the pine. Snow helped block any view into the evergreen tree branches. Two vampires seemed to be squabbling over a meal of fresh deer. It was vile and disgraceful. but with so many carpathians gathered for another christmas celebration, hunting was not wise near the little human town.

The figure stiffened, scenting a darkness in the night. It was disease ridden and the perched hunter nearly gagged on the overwhelming smell that clogged one's nose and throat. It itched horrible, making the figure pause and hold back the urge to cough out the foul ordor. Dark eyes searched the ground, seeking the source of the earthen sludge. Sharp eyes grew hard as they found nothing out of place.

Wait..Something had slithered. Slowly the shadowed hunter leaned forward, peering down at the thing that oozed over the forest floor. The figure nearly reared back in revulsion, realizing it to be the mage, the hunter's ultimate target. It was a form of the sick magick user. A growl was withheld and hawk-like orbs followed the thing as it paused before the vampires before disappearing into the brambles. The hunter waited till the nausea the mage had brought was gone, signalling his departure. The vampires were now arguing about a new thing.

Still the hunter waited, fanning out their senses, checking for any hidden traps or for any hidden comrades to the two below. Senses were retracted slowly, making sure nothing was missed. Finally the hunter focused on the vampires below, Full lips quirked into a devilish smirk. Like the hand of death the figure swooped down and the raged howls of the two vampires filled the night for but a moment before silence was returned. Nothing remained on the ground, not even a footstep. The hunter had vanished as quick as they had come. Question was in the end. Was this hunter friend or foe to the Carpathian people?
