Burning
author's note-hey guys i'm sooo sorry i havn't been updating as often as i used to...i just moved so things have been hectic..thank you to anyone who is still with me..i don't think you reviewers know just how much you guys have helped me along the way so a HUGE thank you to ALL of you reviewer or not..anyway..lol..i hope you enjoy this next chapter and i promise now that things have settled down a bit my chpaters will be coming more frequently..enjoy..
James POV
I could tell she was nervous. Her heart was beating nearly as fast as it was the night they first met. I smiled at the thought. Compared to where my undead life was now, that seemed like so long ago. It was actually only a year ago. But in that one year, give or take a couple months, my life had changed completely. Before it had just been me, Victoria, and Laurent. I worried about myself and only myself. I killed humans to live and never looked back. But then in a second it all changed. I met her, and it all changed. For the first time, in i don't know how long, i had something..to live for. Now i have two: Mercedes and Emelia. I didn't think it was possible to love any two people so much, but i did. Emelia even had Laurent and Victoria wrapped around her chubby little finger, and i wasn't any different. One look into those blue eyes, and i was a gonner.
Now it was all going to change again. After Emelia was born, it didn't take long for Mercedes to fully come to terms with the fact that aside from all the great things thats happened this last year..i was still a vampire. I was an immortal being that would live forever. She wasn't, and neither was our daughter. They were human through and through and as much as it killed me to think about it, they would one day meet and end. Or did they?
That's how we ended up here: in the middle of the woods. The sun had set a couple hours ago and it was the dead of night.
"Are you SURE you want this?", i asked her while squeezing her shoulders.
She hesitated for a minute, i could tell she was scared, but determined. She shook her head yes.
I nodded. If this was what she REALLY wanted then i couldn't refuse her. I pulled her close and breathed in her scent. Then i lowered my head and sunk my teeth into the flesh on her shoulder..
Mercedes POV
I winced as a shrill scream reached my ears. It didn't take me long to figure out it was my own. Before i knew what was happening a burning sensation filled my entire body and i was paralyzed in pain. I felt like i was on fire. It had started with my shoulder, then quickly spread throught out my entire body.
I threw my head back, and released another loud scream that i'm sure woke up the entire city.
Then the world went black...
James POV
