Chapter 11

Chapter 11

Epilogue:

"Stop fidgeting," Alice commanded, as she tried not to poke me in the eye with a mascara wand. I had been buffed, primped, and polished by Alice, Rosalie, and Esme for the last 5 hours.

I don't know how Alice did it, but she managed to put together a wedding in 6 weeks. My birthday was next week, and Edward and I were about to become man and wife. Since we were both going off to college in a couple of weeks, we wanted to do it the right way and be married first, plus Edward wanted the baby to have a mother and a father. He said that when the time came for a proper DNA test, he would gladly take it, but for now he said that the child was his. I was praying and hoping that it was his and not Felix's, that this child had been created out of love instead of being the result of a rape. No child deserved to find out about their conception that way.

Esme had transformed the Cullen house into a beautiful wedding chapel, complete with flowers, streamers, and the whole nine yards. I would descend the stairway and then join Edward in the foyer, where a makeshift altar had been created. Angela Weber's father was performing the ceremony, Esme and Renee were singing, Alice was the maid of honor, Carlslie was the best man, Emmett and Jasper were groomsmen and ushers, Angela and Rosalie were bridesmaids.

It's not that I didn't want Jessica in the wedding, but this summer she hadn't been exactly nice to me, she'd been too wrapped up in Mike Newton to really pay much attention to me, and she called me a whore when she found out about the whole Felix thing. I shuddered slighty. At least Felix was behind bars for the time being, Aro refused to help bail him out, even his own brother Demetri told him that he got what he deserved, and Heidi had filed for divorce and had taken their child with her back to Italy to stay with her parents.

Alice had taken the liberty of designing my dress, using a mixture of vintage and modern for a beautiful flowing dress. It was white, naturally, even though I kept insisting that I shouldn't wear white, with poofy sleeves, a modest neckline, scooped waist, flowing train, and the dress came to just above my ankles. Rosalie removed the curlers from my head, and my mahogany hair fell down around my shoulders in soft cascading curls, and she adjusted the veil so it wouldn't fall off, but that Edward would be able to lift it off during the ceremony. My dress was new, the veil was old (my mother's), and my something blue was the sapphire choker I got for an early birthday present last year from my mother. Alice smirked and threw something at me, I caught it automatically. It was white, lacy, and see through. It was a garter.

"That's mine and I want it back," she said, and I blushed profusely. Well, I now had my something borrowed.

"Can you please control yourself for 15 minutes while I get ready?" she asked. "Try not to cry or sweat too much, if you ruin your new face and mess up my work, I swear to god I'll strangle you with those streamers downstairs."

I giggled lightly as I sat and waited for her to go get herself ready. Rosalie had left earlier, as had Esme. I could hear voices downstairs, and then I heard footsteps coming upstairs. There was a tentative knock on the door.

"Bella? Sweetheart, can we come in?" It was Charlie and Renee. My mother's eyes popped out when she saw me.

"Oh, honey, you look so beautiful! Doesn't she look beautiful, Charlie?" My dad's eyes were watering as he stared at me.

"My little baby girl is all grown up now," he said brokenly.

"I'm glad that's over," I said, as I collapsed in the front seat of the Volvo.

Edward still hadn't told me where we were going for our honeymoon. All I knew was that we were going to be gone for two weeks and then we were headed for college. He was going to get a part time job to help out, even though his family had more than enough money to help us out. Instead of an apartment on campus, he'd gotten us a cute little house a few minutes away. He figured we'd have more privacy off campus, and that a house would be better than an apartment, especially with a baby coming.

When I saw the sign at the airport that said Maui, I started squealing.

"Hawaii? Seriously? We're going to Hawaii?" I asked Edward, not wanting to wait.

He just smiled at my enthusiasm.

"You've never been to Hawaii?" he asked.

"Nope."

"You really have lived a sheltered life, haven't you?"

"Hey, not all of us are wealthy, you know," I retorted playfully.

The plane trip was long but comfortable, due to the first class seats Edward had gotten us. I slept on the plane, and when it finally touched down I had slept myself out. He led us to the rental car desk, and we got a small 4 door VW Jetta for our trip. I missed the Volvo, but this was a vacation, we had to make do with what we had.

"Wow," I said, as he pulled into our hotel. The hotel was right on the beach, we could sit out on the balcony and see the ocean and the beach.

"Nothing but the best," Edward murmured, scooping me up and carrying me down the hallway.

"What are you doing?" I laughed playfully.

"Carrying my bride over the threshold, silly."

"I thought that only worked with houses or apartments."

"Well I'm nothing if not thorough." I just rolled my eyes as Edward carried me into our hotel room, kicking the door shut with his foot. I laughed as he dumped me on the bed and then went to get the luggage, which was sitting outside in the hallway. I went to the balcony and shoved open the large sliding glass door. The salty air hit my nostrils, and I inhaled deeply.

Edward stared at me from across the room. I wasn't starting to show yet, but my stomach had a definite bulge to it but only if I wasn't wearing a shirt.
"You're beautiful," he said, crossing the room to where I stood. It seemed like everything was in slow motion as we embraced each other and layers of clothes were removed. This time our lovemaking was more intense. We'd been together before, but now we were together as man and wife, which made it that much more satisfying.

"I love you, Mr. Cullen," I said, curled up against his chest afterwards. He kissed the top of my head.

"As I love you, Mrs. Cullen." I jumped a little at the sound of my new name, but I liked the sound of it. I didn't know what the future held, but I would take it one day at a time....
