Friends, Enimies, and New Lovers
Chapt. 11
Jeff watched helplessly as Chris was thrown from his car. Chris rolled across the road, and into a ditch. Jeff ran across the street, and checked Chris’s pulse.
“Hang on Chris.” Jeff said as he called the paramedics. Once he told them where he was he hung up, and called Kit.
“Hello.” Kit said.
“Kit, where’s Miroku?” Jeff asked.
“He’s reading on the patio. What’s going on?”
“Did he and Chris have a fight?”
“Jeff you’re scaring me what is going on?”
“Chris was just in a bad car accident. I’m with him now waiting for the paramedics.”
“Oh my god is he all right?”
“He was thrown from his car Kit. He’s pretty mangled.”
“Where are you?”
“About 5 miles from home.”
“My god. Miroku and Chris argued about something. I didn’t think he’d try to kill himself.”
“No his car skidded off the road. He took the turn too fast. Got to go. The paramedics are here. I’ll call you from the hospital.”
Jeff watched as the paramedics worked on Chris, and he then followed them to the hospital. Jeff waited as the doctors worked on Chris. He was surprised to see Kit and Keri come into the waiting room.
“Jeff?” Kit asked.
“I haven’t gotten word yet.” Jeff said. “Where’s Miroku?”
“I didn’t tell him just yet. I did however call Izayoi.”
A doctor walked up to Jeff.
“Are you and the lady here family of the young man you brought in?” the doctor asked.
“No not really. We’re close family friends however.” Kit said.
“The young man was pretty banged up. He’s been in here before for injuries. So I know he’s part vampire.”
“Will he be all right?”
“Well right now I’m concerned. His forearm is broken, but that will heal rather quickly. The main thing I’m concerned about, are his eyes. When he rolled across the road a branch scrapped across one eye. I’m afraid he’ll be permantly blind in that eye. His other eye was damaged. To what extent I’m not sure yet.”
“Can we see him?” Jeff asked. The doctor looked at Jeff and nodded his head. He led the three to Chris’s room. Chris was sitting in the bed.
“You’re up young man.” The doctor said. Chris turned his head towards the voice.
“Yeah Doctor Rhodes. I’m up. However I hurt like hell. What happened?” Chris said.
“You were in a nasty accident young man.” Jeff said. Chris turned his head towards Jeff.
“I took a turn to fast again. Guess I lost. Ok from the feel of things a broken arm. Am I right?”
“Yes you’re right Chris.” Dr. Rhodes said.
“What about my eyes? I can barely see.”
“You’ll be blind in one eye Chris. As to the other one I’m not sure.”
Chris sighed. “You’ll probably need a seeing eye dog.”
“Great. How the hell am I?”
“You’ll do just fine Chris.”
“Can I go home? Please?”
Jeff looked at the doctor. “I can get a ride.”
“I don’t like the thought of you being alone young man.” Dr. Rhodes said.
“I’ll be all right doc. I promise.”
“I can take him home.” Jeff said. Dr. Rhodes sighed.
“You won’t stay will you?” he asked. Chris chuckled, and shook his head.
“No I need to learn how to deal with this and I’d rather do it on my own terms.” Chris replied.
“Okay I’ll get the release papers.”
“Thanks.”
Jeff ushered Kit and Keri from the room and helped Chris get dressed. Later he took Chris home.
AN: Okay the ending sux. I know. Chris leaves town for 10 years and continues his music career. That's all that really happens at the end of this story. He does return however, and he does make amends with his father for running away. I have one more story in this set that is finished, and then like 6 or 7 that are unfinished. The unfinished ones will be posted as I go along.
