ALICE THE 19TH
===============================================================

30 minutes passed, and Adonis was still upset.
However, he was calming down... and to him that was a good sign. After all, how could he hope to rescue his sister if he was in an upset state where he could not think clearly?
Looking outside the windows at the clouds in which the train was now flying though, was a very smoothing sight.
Too bad that where he was going, was not going to be very smoothing. That is, if Dormouse's dream of the castle was any indication at all. Adonis shuddered, thinking of all the heads on the walls.
He recalled the part where Alice, the one that was not her sister, met the Queen in the book.
He had been reading that book at the all boys school he went to, for a school project. The project had been about English literate, and since his ancestor Charles dodgson (who married into the Carroll family) wrote that book, he had chosen it.
That chapter where Alice played croquet with the Queen gave him nightmares for a few dafterfter finishing that book, mainly because of the way the queen yelled 'off with their heads! ' creeped him out to no end. And that Cheshire Cat did not help matters any.
He wondered if the Queen was anything like that in real life, since The Mad Hatter was not anything like he was in the book.
But even so, sometimes there was some truth to a work of so-called fiction--Maybe the Queen did have a thing for beheading people.
If Adonis failed in saving Alice, maybe the Queen would behead him, and everyone else too.

It was then he felt some strong feelings of doubt rise up within him... The Queen was backed up by soldiers, and the fact that she was a queen which meant that she could do anything she wished to at all. The hatter and Adonis himself was only two people up against the Queen and many soldiers.
Well, he was definely going to rescue Time first since he promised that he could help in rescuing Alice... But even then, could Time have the power to stop the Queen?

"Don't worry, I am sure you will save Alice with no problems at all. "
Adonis looked up in surprise, to the source of the voice.
The Hatter was standing there, looking down at him with a solemn look on his face.
"How did you know what I thought? " Adonis asked, forgetting for a moment that he was angry with the hatter.
"I did, not I guessed. Listen... I just want to say I am sorry if I've upset you about the Tea-drugging.."
Adonis shook his head, trying not to get upset again. "Just forget about it, Okay? I am trying to."
Relief then showed on Axel's face. "So, am I forgiven?"
"No, you are not." Adonis said bluntly. "Right after I get Alice to safety, The both of us is going to leave this world. It's just too dangerous for us here. I've seen things that only insane people would see, and it's any wonder that I have not gone crazy yet. But I am afraid that my sister might be cracking up in the process in the whole time we both were here. I do not want to lose her, and I fear that the more time passes here, I am losing her little by little. That she might eventually become a resident of Wonderland, and unable to return home with me."
Axel looked crestfallen. "But... what about me? What about us?"
Adonis shook his head then. "Man, you are way too naive than I am... hard to believe, considering what you did to me. You seriously think you could build a stable, loving relationship in just Two to Three days? To build a trusting relationship just by drugging them? Even 12-year-old girls know that is impossible."
Axel were stunned by those words, as he sat down in front of Adonis on the seat opposite him.
"Somehow... you've changed from the young boy I first met outside my house." Axel said.
"Maybe I did change. It was you who changed me. Or maybe it was Wonderland itself which changed me."
"Is there any way I can persuade you to stay? I meant it when I said I loved you..."
"No. If I had not known about the drugging, I would had considered you as maybe a steady boyfriend... but even then, I would still had to eventually return to the real world. I realize now this relationship, if there was ever one, was destined to fail from the very beginning. I've had some time to think about it, and I've realized that there was no other way this could had gone."

Axel was depressed now, and the depression grew even more when He realized that Adonis's word had a ring of truth to it.
But there was something strange about the way Adonis's wisdom just appeared out of nowhere. And the way he suddenly knew that there had been drugs in that tea...
"Who have you been talking to? You seem....wiser than you were when we were on the road."
"I've been talking to Time." Adonis answered honestly, "He was in my vision... 30 minutes ago, when I just nodded off."

Axel's sad face changed into an angry expression. "TIME?! You....would listen to some old man who's done nothing but make my life a living hell? Just over some stupid argument, which I do not even remember anyway? Do you know the torture I had to go though in the beginning before I managed to make the best of it? It was always the exact same day and time for me everyday... When it's dark for others, The sun never fully sets for me. Clocks refuse to work around me... and the Teacups as well as the kettle which holds my tea, never seems to go empty at all. The food which I touch, becomes frozen in time. They never seem to decay, nor do they run out, no matter how many I take. It was hard for me to even sleep at all, especially since there would never be night at all for me. Night always came for others, but never for me. I never even wear a watch at all anymore because I know exactly what time it is for me... six O' clock. God, it drove me mad back then. I am still crazy because of it. That is why I am called the Mad Hatter, ain't I?"

Adonis gave him a sympathetic look. "I'm sorry about that, but Time needs you right now. In my vision, He was not even old anymore. In fact, He looked like a five-year-old boy to me... and from what he told me, if he keeps being a prisoner of the queen any longer... he will keep on reverting to younger stages. Until he goes back to that stage of non-existence."

Axel laughed. "Serves him right...He was always too prideful for his own good."

Adonis sighed. "But he is time itself. Have you ever thought about what would happen to the rest of wonderland, if he was to stop existing? Everyone might be frozen in time, not even being able to move or blink. Even you. And... I get the feeling that if you helped save him at the Queen's Castle, he would undo what he did to you."

Axel stopped laughing, and grew quiet at this point when Adonis mentioned the possibility of what would happen to Wonderland.

"And... He promised me that he would do all he could in helping me save my sister. Would you do it for me?"

Axel sighed, and then scowled. "Fine. I will do it for YOU.. but not for him."

Adonis did not smile, but he said anyway, "Thank you."
Adonis thought to himself, ' He seems to be a good person somewhat... too bad he goes about things the wrong way.'

The Queen hummed happily, as she watched Alice get more Disorie.
.
"It seems that the drug is taking effect on you now." She said.

She got up from her plush seat, and walked up to Alice.
"Look at me." She commanded, and Alice had no choice but to look up.

"Tell me honestly, when you see me, do you see somebody you love, and would love completely with all your heart?" The Queen asked.

Alice was so drugged by this point, so that she could not even think rationally at all... and she could not even lie at all.
As she looked at the Queen, all she saw was somebody she loved. Although the name of the person she loved escaped her at the moment. Come to think of it, what was her own name anyway? She forgot.
es..es.." Alice said, quite honestly.

"Now, think carefully. Because this is a big thing I am asking you. Do you truly LOVE ME? Not just because I remind you of somebody?" The Queen pressed on, to ensure that the injections she had pumped into Alice was a big success.

Alice nodded, and said again: "Yes.."

The Queen then grinned, a genuine smile. "It's so nice to have somebody love Queen. I've got a right to LIVE, do not I? For Queen to be truly happy?"

Alice just stared at her, with her own eyes somewhat unfocused and having that stoned look to them. "Of course you have.." She answered, not finishing that sentence.

"And you think I am cute, right? No, make that awfully beautiful... so much, that you want to take me back to your own home. Back to Your world?" The Queen of Hearts said.

"You're... cute. As.. a... button.." Alice said, her head starting to droop, "I.. would.. love.. to... take you... back..home.."

The Queen grinned, ecstatically. "Good, because Queen is tired of this world. Queen wanted to go to your world so much, since the last time you were here and told Queen all about it. For Queen is running out of guests... running out of people to behead, and add to Queen's collection. Your world, Alice.. It has so many people. So many beautiful people... All their heads just waiting to be claimed by Queen. Just think of it, my sweet Alice, How wonderful would it be for Queen to take over the Kingdom there?"

"It... would... be... so... wonderful.." Alice said, her unfocused eyes' lids starting to droop a little. Somewhere in the back of her mind, a small voice yelled, 'No, that would not be wonderful at all! Do not do it..' But she paid it know heed.

The Queen then leaned in, so that the Cat who was watching all this with rage shown on his face, could not hear what she was about to whisper next.
"You would not mind it, If Queen had to kill you? To behead you would mean so much to Queen, and would give Queen so much pleasure. It would make Queen so happy, to have your head added to the collection as a monument marking the occasion that Queen came into your world after the successful crossover."

Alice just simply nodded her head, and replied as her unfocused eyes kept on staring straight ahead: "Sure...That'd be wonderful.."

The Queen smiled, her white, pointy teeth showing. "Oh good. That makes Queen happy.."
With that, She lifted Alice's chin up, and then kissed her right on the lips.

Then she let go, and then left the torture chamber, after yelling over her shoulder to the cat: "Remember, the switch box is still on. Do not try to escape.. or else Alice dies. And my headless servant shall keep a watch on you two, if it happens."

With that, The Queen walked down a dark hallway that was barely lit by candlelight, the severed arms on the walls holding the candles.

She came to a large door, in which two of the headless guards opened for her.
The Queen found herself in the garden-maze, which was now filled with mirrors. And in the center of it all, was a strange statue thing that was not really shaped like anything, save being a black boxlike thing. On it, was strange, druid runes which nobody could decipher at all.
She was not alone. There was more than 70 headless soldiers there, and along with them was the headless ambassador who was waiting for her.

"How did it go?" The headless Ambassador asked, the question being finished off with a gurgling noise.

The Queen smiled. "It was easy. We start at Moon-rise tonight...This very night, we shall be going to a new world."

The headless person bowed. He gurgled, "That is wonderful, my Queen."

The Queen sat down on a fancy white lawn chair, and seemed to be deep in thought. "Just think of it, my sweet Ambassador. There must be HUNDREDS of those lands. THOUSANDS of them. An Archipelago of worlds-- A Glittering Shoal of worlds out there.."

There was a moment of silence, before the Queen spoke again.

"Long time ago, Little Alice found the land she needed when she needed some place to escape her confining, boring family. And wonderland found somebody to believe in it... and then Queen just had to come along and ruin that, or so Time claimed when Queen put him to the question. But it's not Important what the land is. Only how to leave it. Queen is ready to leave... You do not know what it's like to be physically confined to one tiny place when there are so many OTHER places Queen could be. There are REAL worlds out there: little ones, like the one Alice inhabits when she is not visiting here. Beyond that, huge and marvelous worlds.. in an ocean of stars. Queen is constricted here, my sweet. Queen needs to fly."

The headless Ambassador did a little jig as it answered in that same gurgling voice: "The spirt of wonderland be praised! How wonderful it shall be.."

The Hatter got up. "We must close to the Castle by now... come with me and we will ask the conductor."
Adonis nodded in agreement, and got up to follow him.
They walked though the carriages, and finally they managed to find the conductor.
"Excuse me, how long until we get to the Castle?" Adonis politely asked.
The Conductor, having poor eyes, lifted opera glasses to peer at them though it. It morphed into a pair of binoculars.
"Which Castle? There is the White Chess Castle, and then there is the Red Chess Castle... Of course, you would need to go though The Portal Mirror to get towards the location of both. But we can drop you off there.." The Conductor replied, pleasantly.
"Actually, no.. We want to go to the Queen of Hearts' Ce." e."
It was then all the passengers gasped, and the Conductor stared at them hard.. adjusting his binoculars as he did so.
"Are you sure, sir? Have not you heard that it's dangerous to go there? Especially when the Queen herself is a madwoman.."
"We're very sure. We are on an important mission... can you stop there for us?" Hatter said, getting uneasy by all the stares the both of them were getting. Damn it, Axel knew that he was crazy, but others did not have to stare at him like he was insane. It was very impolite of them to point out the obvious, after all.
The Conductor sighed. "Come with me, you two."

Adonis and Axel looked at each with a questioning expression on their faces, but they dediced to do as the conductor asked of them anyway.
They followed him though every carriage, until they came to the engine room.
"Why are we here in the engine room?" Adonis wondered, aloud.

The Conductor did not answer, but instead he whispered something to the driver.
Just as Axel was about to ask what the heck was going on, The driver pulled a switch..

And before the both of them knew it, they fell though a hole in the floor.. and found themselves falling towards the ground.
"AHHH!" Adonis screamed, as he found himself more than 10,000 miles high in the air...
And right below them, they could see a small building. As he fell closer and closer, He realized that it was actually the castle.
"Don't scream so, you are damaging my eardrums.." Axel sighed.
"But we are FALLING!! We are going to DIE!!" Adonis gasped, not believing that Axel could be so calm..
"Whatever gave you such a silly notion? We will be able to land right on our own feet without any problems! That is how the law of physics work here.. everyone knows that." Axel said, laughing loudly. He then grabbed on to Adonis's right arm, pulling the boy close to his chest.

Adonis thought to himself, just as he shut his eyes, "Great.. It seems that Axel was really crazy all along!"
It was then he felt his body hit the ground with a loud thud.
It hurt... but the pain quickly passed. And what's more, he was still alive?
Adonis opened his eyes, and to his surprise he found himself lying face down on a smooth checkered floor, in the middle of a dark hall.
Completely baffled by what just happened, Adonis got up and dusted himself off.
"What just happened?" Adonis asked.

"We landed inside the castle. You did say Time was in the West wing, correct? Because That is where I steered us towards while falling. You act as if you've never fallen before." The Hatter explained.

"But..." Adonis said, still confused: "We were like 10,000 miles high in the air, and then all a sudden we are inside the castle. It doesn't just make sense at all..."

It was then that both of them heard footsteps at the end of the hallway.
"No time to explain every law of nature, we have to hide!" Axel said, and grabbed Adonis. He then dragged the young boy behind a large pillar that was big enough to conceal both of them if they pressed up against the wall.

Two headless soldiers marched on right past them, not taking notice of the two males at all. From the look of it, it seemed as if they were paroling this area.
"Is it me, or is Time quiet lately?" one soldier asked in a voice that sounded strangely disembodied.
"According to the wise queen, Time is meant to be a wanderer that never stays in one place very long. It is in his nature, he cannot help being in need to be in constant motion. Being forcibly prisoner in one place for a very long while would weaken him considerably, or at least start to kill him slowly." The other soldier replied, in the same strange tone of voice.
"Ah, that explains it. With any luck, We will never need to patrol this stupid western section of the castle again if Time bites the dust."
With that, both of the headless soldiers laughed.
"Nothing happens in this section anyway... It's not like Time can escape with the seals on the doors and the window. I do not see why we have to do nothing but patrol.." The second soldier grumbled.
If the first soldier had a head, he would had nodded in agreement. "Right, right. And it's not like anybody actually would dare defy the great and beautiful queen and set out to free time. I actually wanted to be with the other soldiers in the garden, to wait to see what the brilliant Queen was up to."
"I heard that from other soldiers who eavesdropped on the Ambassador talking to The Queen of Hearts, that She was planning some somewhat Glorious conquest using some young woman named Alice."

The first soldier was about to say something else, but both the mad Hatter and Adonis could not hear it, for the both of headless soldiers had gotten out of range.

"Did you hear that...They know where Alice is at!" Adonis said, now sorely tempted to follow the creepy headless soldiers.
"But I thought you said we had to go save Time first?" Axel raised an eyebrow.
"Sorry.. You are right. We cannot just leave some child here.. even if he is supposed to be older than I am." Adonis sighed, while Axel tried to restrain from snickering.
"Old man, you mean." The Hatter said.

It was just then they heard some faint song, that sounded as if it was being sung by a very young boy.
As they started in the direction where the song came from, the words of the songs got easier to figure out.

The song went something like this:

"Somewhere in your mind's eye there is some plyou you have never been
Welcome to the strangest place you've ever been a stranger in

Dreams might give you a clue
Close your eyes, it's here for you

But everybody's crazy here in Wonderland
You have to be a bit insane
To sit and watch a house fly away and land
Beside a field of sugar cane

Call it crazy if you please
We're as happy as can be

'Cause everybody's crazy here in Wonderland
You simply won't believe your eyes
'Cause if you've never been you wouldundeunderstand
You couldn't in a million tries

You'll see some combinations no one ever sees
There's nothing even normal 'ba swa swarm of bees

And I sure hope I can get back to Wonderland
(I sure hope you can get back to Wonderland)
And I sure hope you can get back to Wonderland"

Adonis thought to himself that the song sounded familiar to him, but he couldn't put his finger on where he had heard it before.
Axel grinned. "Now, that is a song..."
They followed the sounds of singing right to a big door, that had some strange stone engravings that were nailed the door.
Axel pushed on the door, and then tried pulling on the doorknobs.
"I cannot open it.. it seems to be locked." The Hatter said, shrugging his shoulder.

Adonis then shook his head. "No, I think it has to do with the stone engravings...Didn't you hear the soldiers? They said that the Doors were sealed with something... And Time mentioned the same thing to me. I think if we break those stone engravings, we will be able to get in..Or he will be able to get out."

Axel muttered, "Why not?" And with that, The Hatter did everything from banging on the stone, to attempt at prying it off the door.
However, there was no success.

At least not until Adonis touched the stone engravings, when they glowed with a strange light.
The stone shattered from only the light touch, much to Adonis's surprise.
Axel was about to comment on how amazing the young teenage boy was, when the doors themselves actually exploded with such force that both of them were sent flying backwards...

Both of tlandlanded right on their rear ends, staring at the doorway in amazement.
A young cute boy walked though the doorway, obviously Time himself.

The boy gave Adonis the cutest smile that could easily melt anybody's heart... that Adonis got over his surprise and smiled right back.
"I'm glad you are okay..Time..." Adonis said.
"You weren't kidding when you said Time was now a young boy.." Axel said, gaping at Time. This young little boy, that looked to be around three to four years, was so different from the old man with the walking cane that he remembered. It just seemed so illogical somehow..

"Thank you, Adonis. And of course, The Mad Hatter.." Time said, walking over to them and giving each one of them a hug.
Axel blinked, obviously not used to such affection from somebody that he did not have sexual feelings for. Especially when Time was making him feel some strange protective and maternal feeling that he never had before, and couldn't identify.
"Eh... It's all right. We figured that as long we were here to rescue Adonis's sister, we couldn't leave you behind.." Axel mumbled, trying not to make eye contact with the young boy.
Time looked up at the Mad Hatter, and grinned. "You've changed...You're not so heartless as you were beforespeispeically not as selfish. I am glad."

Before Axel could reply to that, Time turned to face Adonis. "Come, we must stop the Queen and save your sister. What tueenueen is planning, is very dangerous to everyone in the both worlds...And she must be stopped. Already, it's going to be Moon-rise soon!"
Adonis nodded.
Axel asked, "What is going to happen at Moon-rise?"
Time just shook his head, and said: "No time for that.. I will try to explain it on the way to the Hgramgram... where I suspect the Queen will make Alice do her dirty work."
And with that, they started running down the hallway, following Time towards the said location.

It was then Adonis noticed that there was headless soldiers, but they seemed to be frozen in place, as if they were only waxworks.
"What happened to them? They were moving before.." He asked.
Time simply answered, "I froze them Completely. Now that I am free again, my powers are returning. I've put the same effect on the other paroling soldiers inside the castle, so they wouldn't be able to stop us from getting to the garden maze, right where the Hierogram is."
"I see now why Adonis said we had to rescue you first.. You are actually helpful when you can be.. instead of dishing out punishments.." Axel muttered.
"Still sore about that, eh?" Time said, a little sadly.
"What is going to happen to Alice? What will the Queen do to her?" Adonis said worriedly, vividly picturing what he had seen when he was inside Dora's head. How Alice had been naked, but very badly abused...
"She would make Alice use the power of both your dlindlines, to put an end to this land... so that she would escape to the world you two inhabit. After Alice has done all that, her usefulness ends there... so The Queen would most likely behead her afterwards." Time answered, with a very solemn tone of voice that sounded strange coming from his small boy form.
Adonis gasped, now picturing Alice being like those headless soldiers... with her head on some wall like some kind of trophy. He shook his head violently, as the three of them quickly walked down some stairs.
"That's too awful! The Queen's even more worse than the one I read about in the book... I never even imagined that she would be like that..."
WhatWhat Book?" Axel said, somewhat confused. For he was not aware of the popular bit of literate in the other world that depicted wonderland and most of it well-known residents.
Both Time and Adonis ignored him, as they all rushed down a hall that lead outside.
"I know, That is why she must be stopped..." Time said, just as they ran towards the light..

But they weren't prepared for what they saw next....
====================================================================================
