Chapter 2

I groaned as I pulled my car in the parking lot of the old amusement park that looked like it hadn't been renovated since the 1980s. The first person I saw was Felix, and I cringed. I didn't have a boyfriend this year to keep my mind occupied. Felix was 21 and well over 6 feet tall, and last year a couple of girls had chased after him. It was no secret he knew his way around the bedroom. Maybe he could be a welcome distraction this summer to take my mind off of Jacob.

"No boyfriend this summer?" he asked sarcastically.

"We broke up, not that you care," I retorted. I looked at the others. Demetri was back, along with his girlfriend Jane, and her twin brother Alec, and his girlfriend Tanya. The Cullens were standing off to the side, looking lost. Edward kept staring at me, and I met his gaze once and then looked away, moving closer to Felix.
"Meet me after orientation," he whispered, and I nodded once.

"Welcome back, everyone!" Aro boomed in his loud voice.

He went over the hours of operation, the rules, the policies regarding breaks, lunches, and everything else, as well as the park rules. He then paired us off into teams. Demetri and Felix stood off to the side in their maintenance uniforms. Alec and Tanya were paired to run the Tornado roller coaster, Jane and another guy were paired up to run the Crazy Dance ride, and the list went on. Emmett and Rosalie got stuck running the Funhouse, Alice and Jasper got to run the bumper cars, and then he called my name.

"Bella Swan? You're running the arcade with Edward Cullen." I groaned silently. A whole summer stuck in the arcade, filled with noisy kids and teenagers trying to win tickets and then cash them in for ridiculous and stupid prizes, with Mr Edward Cullen himself. Edward managed a half smile as I went over to stand by him.

"No Jacob this year? I didn't recognize you without him attached to you," he said dryly, staring down at me. Dammit why did he have to be so good looking?

"We broke up, not that it's any concern of yours."

"Well, I'm sorry to hear that, but you two were kind of disgusting last summer. It took everything I had not to puke just watching you." I just rolled my eyes.

After the meeting, we all went our separate ways. Edward wandered over to the food court, and I walked over to where Felix was standing. He was leaning against the side of my car.

"Nice ride, what happened to the truck?"

"Died and went to Chevy heaven."

When I first moved to Forks, Jacob and Billy had fixed up an old truck and sold it to Charlie, who'd given it to me as a homecoming present. When it coughed its last breath, Charlie had it towed to the junkyard and then Jacob had been rebuilding an old Volkswagon Rabbit, and as a favor to Billy and Charlie, had given it to me as a graduation present, even though we'd already been broken up by then.

"Where did you get this classic beauty?" Felix asked, tracing a line down the front of the hood.

"Graduation present."

"Nice, is she fast?"

"She's decent, faster than the truck."

"Want to go for a ride?" I trembled slightly. He was so much older than me, old enough to drink, and he seemed dangerous. Dare I take a chance?

"Depends on where you want to go."

"Somewhere we can be alone." My heart skipped a beat. Was I crazy or just plain stupid? He obviously wanted to have sex, why else would he want us to be alone?
I got in the driver's side without a word, and he folded his long legs into the front seat and smiled over at me.

"Just take the freeway for a couple of miles and I'll show you where the turnoff is."

"You live here?" I asked as I pulled in a driveway.

"No, my mom does. She's getting older and hard of hearing, and she's been having a rough time since my father passed. We can go down in the basement, my old bedroom is still down there."

"You don't live here anymore?"

"No, I live on the other side of town."

"Hey, I don't want to intrude on your mom, we can go to your house instead."

"That might not be such a good idea, my room mate's at home."

"Oh."

"Yeah. It's fine, my mom knows I bring my friends over all the time, she won't care."

Felix's basement room had a huge bed, a flat screen TV, DVD player, Playstation, enough movies to start his own store, a bathroom, mini fridge, and a microwave. It also had a long couch and a couple of chairs. I sat on the couch and he sat next to me, close enough that our knees were touching.

"Don't be afraid, I won't hurt you," he assured me, sensing my hesitation.

"I'm not afraid, just nervous."

"Are you a virgin?" he asked, feeling me tremble slightly.
I snorted. "Hardly."

"Then what's the problem?"

"It's just that Jake was the only guy I was with, and I don't know if I even remember what it's like with another guy."

"It's like riding a bicycle," he whispered, turning my face so he could kiss me.

His lips were soft and urgent as they moved against mine, and I gasped as my heart kicked up a notch. Before I knew it, I was tangling my fingers in his hair and clutching him closer as the kisses grew more intense, and I felt him tugging at my jeans. My mind was screaming at me to stop, but my body wasn't cooperating. Without a word, he scooped me up and carried me over to the bed, placing me down gently. I knew I should have stopped at the first kiss, but I realized I needed this as much as he did. I wrapped my arms around his neck and sank into his warm embrace as the daylight slowly slipped away, and I knew nothing else for the next couple hours.

A/N: This will be a Bella/Edward story eventually, I'm working up to it, hang in with me for the ride!
