"Does everyone have anything they need?"

"Yeah, we’re set. Can we go now?" Seth put his things inside of Jacob's truck and crossed his arms over his chest as he saw the pack piling up more things in the truck. Going to the beach for a friendly competition turned into going to the beach for a friendly competition and having a barbecue.

“Relax Seth; don’t get your panties in a bunch.” Wrapping his hands around Seth’s waist Paul lifted him off the ground. “Let go of me you idiot!” “Not until you stop whining.” Squeezing the smaller male harder Paul was about to bite Seth on the neck but Sam let out a growl. When he heard the sound Paul dropped Seth to the floor and turned to face Sam and his pregnant mate Emily.

Sam hadn’t been able to attend Bella’s birthday party since his mate was almost due but he had been supportive of the pack interacting with the clan of vampires. After they pack had told him of the friendly competition between Seth and Edward he had just chuckled.

“If everyone’s ready get in your cars and go. Remember what I’ve told you be safe and no meaningless hostility to the Cullen’s.” The pack nodded their heads and head towards their designated cars. Jacob and Seth; who were leaving in the same car, stayed next to Sam. They knew their Alpha wanted to speak with Jacob.

“Jacob I’ve told you this since I found out Emily was pregnant but I wanted to tell you again. While I’m indisposed you are in charge and it’s your responsibility to keep the pack on track. So make sure nobody loses their tempers today.”

“Don’t worry Sam I’ll make sure everything goes well today.”

“I know you will Jacob, I trust you. Now you Seth, make sure to beat the blood suckers ass in the water.”

Grinning Seth nodded his head, “Don’t worry Sam I’m gonna wipe the floor with him.” Feeling a bit more energized Seth ran towards the truck and jumped in. Jacob walked towards the truck at a more moderate pace. Once inside they waved goodbye to Sam and Emily and headed out towards the beach.

When Seth and Jacob arrived at the beach they weren’t surprised to see the Cullen’s and the pack working together to set things up. Since Jacob had the majority of the supplies in his truck Emmett and Jasper grabbed the heaviest things in the truck and the rest of the group grabbed what was left inside.

“So are you ready to swim Seth?”

“You bet your ass I am Emmett. I’m ready to swim circles around your brother.”

“Damn, you sound pretty confident.”

“I’ve been swimming in this beach since before I could walk, believe me I’m gonna win.” Hearing the conversation Jared and Embry joined Emmett and Seth.

“Believe it not he really was in that water since he was a kid.”

“Yeah my mom told me that Mrs. Clearwater used to hold him in the water and he would kick. So Seth, it’s more like you were doggy pedaling in the water.”

“You guys have no faith in me, just watch I’m going to win this.”

“I guess you’re going to have your ass handed to you Edward.”

Strolling towards the small group Edward grinned, ever since the pack and the coven started to slowly interact things had felt more carefree for Edward. It felt like his need to be perfect and his mature attitude could take a backseat while he joked around with the pack and coven.

“We’ll see about that. Are you ready swim Seth?”

“Of course I am, but are you ready?”

“I’m ready, so I guess we can get started.”

By the time everyone was ready to see both teens swim it was before noon. It was decided that Rosalie and Quil would wait out in the red bell in the water and would tell the group who won. While everyone was on the beach Rosalie and Quil swam out to the red bell and Edward and Seth began to take off their clothes. Edward wore a pair of tight red swimming trunks and Seth wore a pair of swimming black Speedos.

“I think Seth is planning on distracting Edward with that big butt of his.”

“Hey shut the hell up Brady, you know I wear this when I go swimming.”

“As I former soldier I salute your strategy of distraction Seth. I can assure you that your strategy would work on anyone not just Edward.”

Blushing a deep shade of red Seth turned his back to the group and head towards the water. Crossing his arms over his chest Seth sulked as he heard the group chuckle. After a few moments Edward was next to Seth.

“They’re just teasing Seth.”

“I know but they’re just so annoying.”

“Yeah, that they are. And don’t worry, as tempting as your ass is I’ll try to stay focused on the race.” The laughter behind the two went up a few notches when they heard what Edwards said.

Glaring at Edward Seth snapped back, “Well I’m not the only one wearing something tempting.”

“So you think what I’m wearing is tempting you?” Moving a bit closer to Seth Edward bumped Seth with his shoulder.

“What? No, no I…that’s not what I…ugh let’s just do this.”

“Ok then let’s do this.”

Seth and Edward lined up at the edge of the water and waited for Jacob to give the signal. “Get ready, get set, GO.” As quickly as possible both boys jumped into the water and swam as fast as their body would let them towards Brady and Rosalie. They chilling water didn’t even bother as the raced.

The occupants on the beach weren’t able to clearly see who was at the lead because of all the splashing in the water. Rosalie and Brady were able to see that from where they were at that Seth was in the lead but only slightly. As the approached Rosalie and Brady they were neck and neck but before in the last second Edward shot forward and beat Seth to the bell in the water.

Grinning both teens held on to the water and turned to face each other. In the split second that their eyes met each other Seth felt lightning travel up and down his body. He gasped as he realized what had just happened it, he had imprinted on Edward. Wide eyed Edward heard Seth’s jumbled thoughts. Before he was able to do anything Seth shot back towards the beach.
