He’s Here…
Edward and I finished loading the car with the bags. Since we were armed, we had them get in the car to make it easier to keep them out of the line of fire. Not that there had been any but you never know. I turn and see one more bag is still on the stoop. We’d forgotten it in our haste. Calling over my shoulder to Edward to let him know one more had to fit, I left him cursing under his breath about extra liabilities and luggage. I couldn’t help but smile at his reaction. I sling the shoulder strap of the bag onto my left arm, and, as I start to walk towards the car, hear noises behind the trees. Dropping to the ground I pull my Browning.
“EDWARD!” He pulls his gun and turns toward my shout. Telling my family to keep their heads down he makes his way over to the trees. Moving stealthily he surveys the surrounding area. Upon making a discovery he laughs and puts up his gun. A kitten that was hiding there winds around his ankles and purrs. “Blank!” Josh yells from the car. Edward scoops the kitten into his arms. He looks over at me and rolls his eyes. “You just had to shriek over the big, bad kitten didn’t you?” Rolling to my feet, I walk over to Edward and remove the kitten from his grasp. “Shut up Edward. I didn’t know what it was.” Glaring at his ill attempt to stop laughing, I walk towards the car. Josh leans out the window. “I’m sorry Nita, I thought he was in the carrier case.” “No big, buddy! I’ll put him there now. Just buckle yourself in.” Bending over, I place the kitten in the carrier and place the last bag in the car. Closing the trunk I make my way over to the passenger side and notice a note on the handle. My hands shaking slightly at the thought of who put it there I pull it to me, open it, and read. I reach down to pick up a photo that had fallen out. It was a photo from last Christmas. Josh, My dad, and Judith were cuddled together behind me. I remembered arguing with my dad about not wanting to be in the middle of the group hug. Call me crazy but I didn’t like having my gun arm hampered by anything, even around family. We had compromised by having me kneel in front of their huddle. It was supposed to make it look like I was a part of the family. I always thought it showed just how much of an outsider I really am. Apparently I’m not the only one. Anita- I see you here with your family. What a pretty picture they make. It is a shame for them you were born with dark hair and dark eyes. Even in family photographs they set you apart. I love the coloring on you though. The length and curl of your hair against the startling white of your skin, the lushness of it calls to me. I can hear each strand begging for my attention. Maybe I will keep it as a souvenir along with your heart. Then I could rub it all over myself anytime I want, picturing your face, bloody and screaming, as I slide it over intimate parts. I am all hot at the thought of feeling you buck beneath me as you did beneath Edward. Feeling you claw my back as I drive into you, your tight, dry flesh quivering against me as I force an orgasm from you. He may have you now but you will be mine in the end. Let him know that I do not appreciate him taking what is mine but I am enjoying the hunt. It builds so much…anticipation. I am erect over what I will soon do to you. Give Edward my regards. I am sure he will read this anyway but, I do not wish to seem rude. By the way Anita, 30 seconds. Olaf “Edward get in the car and drive, NOW!” He didn’t even question. He just jumped in and shifted into reverse. The house blew seconds after we had backed out of the driveway. “Holy shit!” I turn to see Josh’s mouth hanging wide open and Dad and Judith wide-eyed with shock. Turning back around I look at Edward. Seeing his mouth set in a grim line, I hold back what I was going to ask. “We are driving to Montana tonight. We’ll stop for food and restroom breaks as necessary. We’ll be there in about 20 hours.” Alright, no more holding back. “Why are we going to Montana?” He looks over at me. “Backup.”
