Chapter three.

Two Years later...

"...of me!" Juliet finished singing "Think of Me" at her audition at the opera house. The casting director, and the producers loved her. She was a true talent.

As she left the office, after thanking them for their praise she heard one say: "Even Christine Daae Dechangy can't sing like that angel." Juliet smiled and left. She walked out into the cold Paris street, tightning her cloak around her.

As she walked through the crowd she felt an arm grab her. She spun around, fire in her eyes but her expression softened when she saw who it was. "Maxim!" she exclaimed, wrapping her arms around her lovers neck.

Maxim was a tall, thin, well built handsome man with beautiful brown eyes. His dark brown hair was colored of chocolate.

He was so handsome, despite the long scar on his right cheek bone.

"God-i've missed you. I hated Germany." he told her. She smiled. He leaned down and kissed her passionately.

"Oh Maxim-" she didn't finish for he had kissed her again. He came from a very well respected family. He lived in Paris but he was German. Juliet had met him when he was visiting Paris and he moved to Paris with his mother just for her.

She loved Maxim's mother, who was English, very much.

They got along together very well. Juliet finally pulled away. 'Erik wa right, I would find someone,' she thought to herself. All those nights ago when Erik told her she would only love the ghost he was she knew. She knew she would never be loved by him. She gave up on him and started looking for someone else.

And she found him. Her prince charming, her knight in shining armor. "Can you come over tonight?" he asked her. She sighed and shook her head. "I can't...music lesson tonight. But tomorrow-well," she grinned. He leaned in and kissed her again.

As he kissed her she opened her eyes fora brief moment. But in that moment her eyes fell on a black carriage. She pulled away. "I have to go. I will see you tomorrow night." she told him. She ran off across the street and got into the carriage.

She looked at her companion. "You could've given me more time, Erik." Juliet said, with another sigh.

Erik rolled his eyes. She had found someone quite soon.

"Yes, well-how was the audition?" he asked, changing the subject. She shrugged. "It was alright, I guess." she said, looking out the window. Erik reached over and touched her hand. With out even looking at him she pulled her hand away.

Things had gottan tense between them. She had wanted to stay out later with Maxim. Erik worried about her. He even gave her a curfue. Midnight, no later. He told her if she ever came home later that 12:00 he would throw her out. But he never would do that. He cared for her way too much.

When they arrived at the house Juliet went into the house quickly. Erik followed, but not before telling the driver to go and hav the carriage cleaned. Erik caught Juliet by the arm on her way up th stairs.

"Erik-you're hurting me." she complained. "I saw what you were doing with that man." he said. She scoffed. "Now what? Are you going to marry him?" he demanded. He didn't know why he was bringing up the subject. Perhaps because he was afraid Maxim would take Juliet away like Raoul had taken Christine away.

"Perhaps we will get married. I don't ever recall you asking me to marry you. Or did that thought ever enter your mind, Erik?" she asked, almost in a hissing voice.

She hurt him. He let go of her arm and she ran up the stairs. She slammed her door. Her footsteps were no longer the soft steps he remembered from when she was nothing more than a young girl he rescued from the brothel.

They had become two people who couldn't stand each other. A aragent student, and a jealous teacher. What a perfect match.
