An ocean
separates me
from my love
its wide and deep
I'd swim the whole
of its vastness
if I could
but alas,
I'm so tired
these spears
pricking my sides
sharp blades
thrust in my back
always they
are on the attack
visors down
dressed all in black
everything pure
withdrawn
in the night
with its stars so bright
below only strife
then
the still and quiet
a happy child
flies his kite
pushed high by fair winds
and flowers bloom
pink or white
over the killing field
saturated long ago
with my blood
dripping dark
and deep
