Love and Revelations
Mercedes POV
I laughed as me and James soared through the trees with me on his back. Yep, in the past few weeks, me and James had gotten extremely close and there was rarely a day that went by that i wasn't with him. It's amazing, most would say i was crazy for trusting him and others would say i obviously have a death wish. But i don't. I'm perfectly sane and i know he would never hurt me. Besides, i don't think i could leave him if i tried. Like i said, i trusted him, but i also think i loved him...
James POV
Her laughter was music to my ears and i sped up to make her laugh more. The last couple weeks had been more special to me the the countless ones before meeting Mercedes. I knew what made her laugh, what made her cry, and what made her mad. I knew about that place on her neck that if i touched (yes touched, not bite, touched), tickled.I knew what made her jump and i knew all about mommy dearest. I also new i loved her...from the moment she decided she was going to be apart of my eternal life i knew i loved her..
Flashback (Normal POV)
Mercedes silently crept down the hallway to front door making sure not to disturb her mother.'Maybe she got too drunk, passed out, and wouldn't know i'm gone', she thought hopefully.
"Where ya going", asked a hoarse, slurring voice.
'Maybe not'. Mercedes frowned at all the smirnoff bottles surrounding her mother;some empty, some full.
After assuring her inebriated mother she was "just going for a walk", Mercedes ran out the door and to the small creek where she'd met James the night before.
"James?", she yelled out into the early morning. Waiting a few minutes without response, she concluded he was obviously not gonna come.
"You rang?", James mused
Mercedes jumped at the sudden presence of his silky voice. "Oh hey...um..i..i was worried you wouldn't come"
"well i'm here aren't i", he asked smirking at her nervousness
"yea you are", she said smiling at him.
An akwared silence fell over the two of them, neither really knowing what to say to the other. Finally, James was the one to end it.
"why did you come back? I mean don't get me wrong, i'm happy you did", he added noticing her slightly hurt expression, "but i'm just curious as to why you would want to contact a vampire."
"well, i thought that you've probably been dead for a long time, so you must be pretty lonely, so i have made the decision that i'm going to be your new...friend" she stated matter of factly.
"is that right? And what makes you think i want a new friend", he asked coyly
"Doesn't matter, you just got a new friend", she grinned
James didn't argue, just shook his head and laughed.
End Flashback
"so what about Laurent and Victoria? What do you tell them everytime you come to meet me"
"nothing. They answer to me, not the other way around", james answered
"oh..", she said, a silence falling over them. Not an awkward one, just a comfortable one.
She wanted to ask so bad, but didn't want to bring up a sore subject for him. After a couple minutes, she thought 'what the hell?'
"james, can i ask you something", after receiving a small nod from him she continued, "how did you become a vampire?".
When he didn't answer she thought she should drop it but then he spoke up, "i was walking alone one night and i came across this man, he looked like he was hurt, he was hunched over, so i went to help him, the he just turned on me. All i remember is waking up the next morning in my bed with this...this thirst...it wouldn't go away.", he stopped getting a pained expression on his face. Mercedes was shocked, she had seen him angry, happy, and bored, but never sad, he never showed anything even remotely close to a weakness. She suddenly felt guilty for bringing it up."Look, you don't have to finish if you don't want to", she sadi trying to console the damage she caused.
"No it's alright. Let me finish. Anyway, one night it got so bad i thought i was gonna die, i almost attacked my brother. Afer that i just left and never went back. I never saw my family after that.", he finished. He still had on a pained look, but then must have realized he was in a vulnerable state and immediately acted like nothing happened.
Mercedes just nodded and dropped it. She felt there had been enough confessions for the night.
author's note-so this chapter was longer....you got a little backstory..so REVIEW!!!!!..i've found wanting them to be quite addictive...hope your enjoying so far....stick around
