Chapter 3

I reported for work right on time the next day. I'd left Felix's mother's house early, I didn't need my aunt and uncle complaining already. Edward was already there, and he smiled as I walked into the arcade.

"You look tired," he said.

"My uncle snores," I said, which was true, but that wasn't why I didn't get much sleep, I'd been up half the night thinking about a lot of things.

I heard a cough behind me as I was refilling the token machine, and I looked to see Felix smirking at me, and I almost dropped the bag of tokens. He chuckled.

"Could you at least wait until the summer's over before you decide to break something?" he teased, coming over to my aid. He straightened up when he saw Edward staring in our direction.

"That guy is head over heels in love with you," he whispered, gesturing to the prize table, where Edward was staring. When he realized I was staring back, he averted his eyes and his cheeks turned pink. I just rolled my eyes.

"What about you?" Felix pressed. This time I flushed.

"I like older guys," I admitted. He sighed heavily.

"Bella, please, don't fall in love with me."

"What?" I hissed.

"Just trust me, don't fall in love with me."

"But I thought -"

"We had an incredible time last night, but you're young, you shouldn't settle down just yet."

"So you're saying you used me?" I retorted, growing angry.

"No, I like you, but I'm not sure if we can have a real relationship. Not in the normal way anyway."

"So you're saying you just want to have sex with no strings attached?"

"Something like that." I breathed a sigh of relief.

"You're not mad?" he asked, sensing my relief.

"No, I was going to tell you not to fall in love with me either. I just got my heart broken recently, and I was afraid you was going to tell me that you was in love with me." He chuckled.

"I like you, I really do, you're an amazing girl, and the sex was amazing, but I'm not really the relationship type of guy."

The rest of the day passed slowly. I tried to avoid Felix, so people wouldn't start talking, and I noticed Edward kept trying to get my attention.

I went over to Felix's mom's house again that night. He said his room mate was home again. I was about ready to ask him why he cared what his room mate thought, but once again my mind was cloudy as he made me forget my own name for the next hour or so.

"Who's that?" I asked Demetri, who was working on the Skee Ball machine, looking over at a leggy blonde woman talking to Felix. Demetri smirked at me.

"That's Heidi, my sister in law."

"Oh, I didn't know you had more than one brother." He laughed out loud.

"I don't, Felix is my only brother." My eyes widened as his words sank in.

"Felix is married?" I croaked out.

"Yes."

"Since when?"

"They got married last June." So that meant that those two girls he'd been with last year had been mistresses.

Why did he need mistresses when he had a wife at home? I felt a painful twist in my gut as I realized that once again I'd been used and deceived. He had relentlessly pursued me last year, even though I'd ignored him, and then when I finally had given him the time of day, he'd taken me to his mom's house twice and fucked my brains out, not even bothering to tell me he was married. So that was why he took me to his mom's basement, because he had a wife at home. So much for his room mate story.

"Are you okay? You look a little green," Demetri said, putting the Skee Ball machine back together and turning it on.

"Yeah, I'm fine, just hungry." That was a lie, I felt sick to my stomach.

"Edward, can you take over? I need some fresh air," I said, and he looked up.

"Are you all right, Bella?" I nodded. The sooner I got outside the better. Taking a couple of deep breaths I felt better somewhat, but it felt like my heart was breaking in two again.

"You're an ass!" I hissed, letting the palm of my hand make contact with his face.

"Does it even matter?" he asked, pinning me up against the wall, pinning my hands behind my head as he glared at me.

"You're married?! How could you?!"

"It's kind of complicated."

"Oh, enlighten me please," I spat out. He sighed and released me, hoping I wouldn't hit him again.

"She was pregnant. I tried to do the right thing by marrying her so the baby could have two parents, but the pregnancy made her irritable, and she stopped sleeping with me. Then after the baby was born, she claimed she was always tired. I'm lucky if she gives me any at least once a week. I'm a man, I have needs, and she doesn't give me what I need."

"Is there some written law stating that you have to marry someone just because they're pregnant? I see couples all the time that have children together and they're not married, and they're happy. Plus there are ways to prevent pregnancies, you know." I should know, I was on the pill, had been for over a year.

"I figured you wouldn't understand it. Her father is a lawyer and he pretty much threatened that if I didn't do the right thing he would pretty much ruin me."

"So what happens now?"

"The same as before."

"You mean you still expect me to have sex with you knowing that you have a wife and child at home?"

"I thought you understood the no strings attached thing. Plus if my wife finds out, she'll have her dad get me arrested."

"For what?"

"Washington State Law prohibits adultery. It's a criminal felony, a jail sentence. Do you really want that on your conscience?"

"I'm leaving, go find some other slut to screw around with, but I'm not coming back here."

Author's Note: Didn't see that coming, did you? LOL Sorry!
