Nightmare

Chapter 4: Nightmare

The wounds finally began healing. With aid of a few herbs, it wouldn't be long before they were just a few more scars on his dark skin. Sitting up, barely, it seemed Drizzt might get better even without the aid of other Elves. He would still look off into nowhere, though, as if expecting to see something that was far away. Never was he actually able to look at it, nor his friends.

His mind was still shut tight, and it was either getting better or much worse. He no longer fought back when his friends tried to feed him, or get him to drink something. Shivering every now and then, he fell back to the blankets that surrounded him. The four others thinking about what they would do once they reached the elves. All looked at the dark elf a little worried when they saw him fall, but when they saw the slight raise in his chest movement from breathing, they sighed in relief.

"So how 'er we supposed ta approach dem elves though. They obviously probably wont want to help a group traveling with a drow..." Cattie-brie brought up.

"We tell 'em da truth. That I am king Bruenor Battlehammer from Mithral Hall and I request aid for our friend who just happens to be a really tan elf..." The dwarf said, happy with his plans.

Regis sighed. Lots of different races despised dark elves, especially surface elves. Hopefully they would know their friend by name. It all was going to ride on luck and how long they could put off the death of their friend. Looking to Wulfgar, the man seemed worse for wear. He had been acting that way since they had found Drizzt in his room. Worried about his barbarian friend, the halfling walked over and placed a hand on the tall man's arms.

"Don't worry. We will make it... we will save Drizzt." He spoke reassuringly.

Coming back to his senses the barbarian looked at the halfling. Putting on the best fake smile he could muster at the moment, Wulfgar nodded his head in agreement. After all, a few more days and they would be within the elven forest. There was still a chance.

'No there isn't. You should just kill the fool and put him out of his misery.' The voice said, although the sound was a little more distant it seemed. Each time the voice would talk, it would take a few steps back.

The group fell asleep, with Regis taking the first watch. They all seemingly slept peacefully, until the whimpering of a nightmare awoke all of them.

They rushed all over his skin, the spider legs. Touching him, cutting him, bruising him. Drizzt couldn't stand it. The eight legged creatures might have been small, but the number they were in made them hard to knock away. Even more came in the dead one's places. He hit them off, tried so hard, then they finally stopped coming. Leaving his body they stood in front of him as a drider. He had encountered the things before. Transformed dark elves. Ugly and misshapen with the lower body of a spider. Pinning the weaponless elf to the ground, it tore all of Drizzt's clothes off.

After that job was done, the drider left into the darkness of the nightmare. The poor dark elf was left there, to cover himself with the biggest piece of ripped clothe he could find. A female drow appeared behind him... no not a drow. Lloth. She pulled his hair back. For some reason, he couldn't even move. The spider webs around his ankles and wrists prevented him from most movement.

"You're going to die Drizzt, and none of your friends care." She said next to his ear.

"They will save me... they wouldn't just let me die...." Drizzt mummbled.

Pulling back on his hair, she knew he didn't believe his own words. "Yes, I have to admit they will try, but are you willing to accept the cure once you know what it is?" She put the hilt of a sword at his entrance.

Trying to get away he couldn't undo the webs and just ended up on his face, butt raised up in the air. Tears began to stream down his cheeks. "no...please no...."

Pressing it tight against the ring of muscle, it seemed it would take force to make it fit. Pulling Drizzt's hair, she yanked him back to a sitting position, and as he sat up, the hilt was forced into his rectum. His screams were not heard in the dream, his mouth covered with even more webs.

Pulling the hilt out and roughly putting it back in, the spider queen hissed in Drizzt's ears. "Every time you fall asleep, you will be free game for me to play with Drizzt. And I dearly enjoy playing with you...." Laughing it all began to fade.

Regis and Cattie brea tried shaking the screaming elf awake, and finally it seems to work. He wrapped his arms around the girl tightly and cried. Patting the crying elf on the back, the woman put her arms tightly around Drizzt's quivering form.

"Shhhh... it was just a nightmare..." She said calmly. "....it was just a nightmare...."
