Kendra glared daggers at Edward. “You have got to be joking, right? There is no way I’m letting that fly.”

Just then, a new arrival breezed into the room. “That is fine, ma petite. We shall change it up. I shall hit on her. Much more believable, non?”

Again, Kendra glared. “No.” She defiantly crossed her arms under her buxom bust. “It’s not going to fly.”

Edward groaned. “That’s one reason you weren’t going. You wouldn’t like her hitting on any of us, or us hitting on her.”

To this she raised her hand. “I wouldn’t care about Haldir.”

“Ma petite, they are too close for it to work that way.”

“Yeah,” Remus added. “It wouldn’t be believable if she denied him. But if it were anyone else, it would be. Any attention from anyone but Haldir is unwanted by her.”

Grumbling almost inaudible obscenities, Kendra agreed. “Fine. But if for one second I think she’s buying into it, that pointy-eared bitch is mine, got it?”

Everyone nodded. Jean-Claude ushered everyone into the hall. “The elves are waiting just outside, near the vehicles. They all look rather tasty in their new attire, I might add.”

This warranted a death-gaze from Kendra. “Watch yourself.”

Chuckling, the master vampire brought up the rear, following closely behind Oria. As they exited the house, he leaned over her shoulder, whispering in her ear. “Ma cherie, you look good enough to eat tonight. Be careful. I would be most disappointed if another vampire admirer were to take a taste.”

Oria blushed crimson and nodded. She had decided from the get-go that she’d be careful, but she was also out to have a good time. It was such a rare thing these days. She missed the things they used to do.
