Chapter 4

WARNING: Underage drinking ahead, I don't normally condone this sort of behavior, but it's necessary for the story, but you have been warned!

My aunt and uncle went out of town for the weekend, so I decided to have a party at the house. I invited everyone I worked with, with the exception of Felix. I made it a point to ignore him. I only invited Demetri because he was the oldest, he was old enough to bring the beer.

"You're coming too, aren't you?" I asked Edward.

"Of course. Alice would rip my head off if I didn't." I giggled softly.

That's when I saw Felix come in, and I made it a point to stand closer to Edward than necessary. Felix glanced at me briefly and then went over to the token machine, unplugging it before he got out his tools to fix it.

When it came time for a couple other workers to come relieve me and Edward for lunch, I promptly tripped over my shoelaces, and Edward caught me before I could kiss the pavement. He chuckled as I turned bright red.

"Typical Bella," he said.

"Hey, it takes talent to trip over flat surfaces." We were still chuckling as we headed for the food court.

"Let me treat you to lunch," he said, as I started to pull out my money. I just shrugged as he steered me towards the window. We split a small pizza and talked as we ate. He pulled a string of cheese off my nose.

"I'm glad Carlslie talked us into coming here this summer," he said.

"Yeah. Last summer was interesting."

"Oh yeah? Are you referring to your broken ankle?"

"That, and you know Felix?"

"What about him?"

"Well I talked to Demetri, and he said that Felix dated this girl in college and got her pregnant, and her father is this hot shot lawyer, so he pretty much threatened Felix if he didn't marry her. Long story short, last summer he sort of fooled around with a couple of girls, even though he was married."

"What an ass. Hey, didn't he hit on you last summer too?"

"Yes, but I was with Jacob, remember?"

"Oh, right. So, anyway, you can tell me it's none of my business, but what exactly happened to you and Jacob anyway?"

"It's complicated."

"I'm sure I could keep up."

"He cheated on me."

"Ouch. Anyone I know?"

"I doubt it, it was a girl at La Push."

The party was in full swing when the Cullens arrived. Demetri was around here somewhere, probably off with Jane, he'd already bought out half the liquor store down the street. Everywhere I turned there was a beer bottle or can laying around. Alice shoved Edward towards me as the rest of them started to dance.

"Shall we?" Edward asked, putting his hands on my waist.

"I can't dance. How about a swim instead?" My aunt and uncle had a pool outside, and the weather was hot and muggy.

"I didn't bring a suit," he said.

"I don't have one either." We went out to the pool as I grabbed a couple of towels. His eyes widened as I stripped down to my bra and underwear and dove into the water.

"Are you coming in or what?" I asked, treading water.

He finally shrugged out of his clothes down to his black boxers and jumped in. His hands caught me around the waist as he pulled me towards him. I was aware of how thin our undergarments were, and I could tell by the prominent bulge in his boxers that he was as turned on as I was. I closed my eyes and inched my face closer, as he closed the gap and his lips touched mine. As soon as our lips touched I felt the fire coursing through my veins, and every nerve in my body was a live wire. Not even the most passionate kiss from Jacob felt like this. I sighed and parted my lips slightly, and he moaned and moved away.

"I'm sorry, Edward," I said, my face turning red.

"No, it's not your fault."

We swam around for a while and then went back in the house to dry off. I gave him a pair of my uncle's boxers just until his dried, and he stayed behind after the party left. My aunt and uncle wouldn't be back until Sunday afternoon sometime.

The party broke up about midnight, and Edward stayed behind to help me clean up. Since he'd driven his siblings in his Volvo, he'd let Alice drive everyone home. I'd take him home after we were done cleaning up. Or in the morning.

"Man, I'm bushed," Edward said when he finished throwing the last garbage bag outside in the dumpster out back.

"Me too."

"Do you mind if I crash here tonight? You look like you're going to pass out at any second."

"Uh, yeah, help yourself to any of the guest rooms upstairs."

"Which one is yours?" he asked, blushing. I flushed too, my heart kicking up a notch.

"The one with the sign on the door that has a license plate with my name on it, why?"
"In case I get lonely in the middle of the night and want to join you."

"I'll leave it unlocked. There are towels in the cupboard in the bathroom if you feel like freshening up."

I took a quick shower to get the chlorine out of my hair and headed to my room to get dressed. A few minutes later I heard him enter the bathroom and the shower turned on again. Ignoring my comfortable cotton pajamas, I rummaged around in my closet and found the sexy lacy nightgown that I'd bought with my first paycheck, hoping to seduce Felix with it. He hadn't seen it yet, and he never would, not now. I couldn't deny that sex with him was mind blowing and I forgot my own name, but I would not continue an affair with a married man. I wasn't a slut, I did have some morals after all.
