Chapter 45
Geez, guys, I'm sorry for taking just over a week. RL is getting in my way and, well, it's not nice of me to leave with a cliffy that long. :) So, I'm sure y'all are wanting to know what's happened, so here you go.
On another note, I'm sorry for the bit of cliche-ness... I kinda got the idea from HP. You'll see what I mean.
When I opened my eyes, the clearing was peaceful and still. I couldn’t look to my left at the pile of ash I knew would be there. Instead, I looked straight ahead. Richard was flat on his back, the ankh a few feet away from him, out of reach. There was a smoking burn in his abdomen, and the sickly smell of burnt flesh floated in my direction.
“Whitaker.” Jasper’s voice washed over my ears. I closed my eyes, glad my mind could recall it with such clarity. “Whitaker, why won’t you look at me?”
I kept my eyes closed. “I can’t. You’re not here.” Oh, great. Now I’m talking to myself!
“Yes, I am.” I felt a hand on my chin, raising my face slightly.
My eyes burst open in surprise. My treasure was kneeling beside me, smiling softly.
“Jasper!” I cried, wrapping my arms around him in a death-grip type hug. “I thought you were gone!”
“I’m here.” He returned the hug with equal fervor.
I pulled back from the hug and punched him in the shoulder. “Don’t do that to me!”
“I couldn’t let him hurt you.”
There was a scrabbling sound behind Jasper. We both turned to se Richard standing with the ankh in his hand again. My eyes widened in fear until I realized the center stone was cracked. It wouldn’t work again!
Richard seemed oblivious to this as he raised the artifact and began chanting once more.
Nothing happened.
“What in the hell?” he cursed, turning the ankh over and over in his hands.
“The stones are broken,” I pointed out.
“…How?”
“Love,” Jasper stated. “Our love stopped it.”
“Vampires can’t love.”
“Explain that, then.” He pointed at the useless piece of history and the still smoking burn.
“Oh my God.” Richard promptly fainted when he realized he was hurt.
“We need to take him to the hospital,” I muttered. Jasper only gave me a confused look. “Well, we don’t want him to die, do we?”
“I don’t care. He tried to kill you,” he replied.
“But he didn’t. We can’t leave him here.”
“Yes we can. All we have to do is walk away.”
“Would you really do that?”
He sighed. “No.”
“Let’s take him to Carlisle before he goes to the hospital. We don’t want him blabbing off anything about vampires.”
“Carlisle’s at the hospital.”
I lifted Richard’s limp form from the ground. “Then call him.”
Jasper nodded, picking up the discarded ankh as he opened his phone and dialed quickly.
Carlisle met us at the Cullen house.
“So what happened?”
Jasper rapidly recounted the events as Carlisle led me to a room, I don’t know which one, where I could set Richard down on a makeshift bed.
Carlisle prodded the burn gently, quickly made some kind of sour-smelling poultice, and pressed it into the wound.
“He’ll be fine,” Carlisle stated as he set up an iv with antibiotics and sedatives.
“I can’t say I’m glad,” Jasper huffed. I placed an hand on his arm, trying to soothe without words. He turned and engulfed me in a tight embrace, kissing me with a desperation I had never felt from him.
Carlisle coughed from behind us, causing us to part a bit sheepishly.
“I have him on sedatives, and I will keep him sedated until he’s healed,” he said as if nothing had happened.
“What are we going to do about him?” I questioned.
“Talk to him and send him on his way.”
“We shouldn’t have brought him back,” Jasper growled.
“You two go on back home,” Carlisle instructed. “I’ll call when he wakes up.”
Jasper nodded, dragging me out of the white and glass house and to our own.
As soon as the door closed behind us, I pressed Jasper against it and kissed him passionately, insistently, fervently.
Jasper was panting when I pulled away.
“You scared me,” I whispered, not meeting his gaze until I felt his hand on my cheek.
“I am so sorry, love,” he murmured. “But I’m here now.”
I nodded, still not looking up, not trusting myself to remain composed.
His lips pressed to my forehead and drifted over my face. “I want you, love,” he breathed over my lips before touching them with his own.
I returned the kiss while I dragged him to the bedroom, dropping our clothes along the way.
Jasper pulled away from me when we stood by the bed, kneeling on the floor on his hands and knees and glancing at me over his shoulder. “I want you to claim me, love. I think we both need it.”
I knelt behind him and kissed his shoulder. I reached into the bedside drawer and brought out the lube, coating my erection before setting it aside. I pulled Jasper up until he was only on his knees and his back was flush with my chest. Without further ado, I thrust up, causing Jasper to cry out. I kissed the crook of his neck in apology, but he turned his head for a real kiss.
I started slowly, letting my hand drift down to rest just above his erection and hold his hips to mine.
He groaned, “Claim me, love. I need to know I’m yours.”
My pace quickened as I leaned into his ear. “Why so insistent, treasure? Why do you want me to claim you? Did you meet someone?” I don’t know what made me say that…
He bit his lip and nodded, his head falling back to my shoulder. A pang of hurt stabbed my chest, but I pushed it aside.
“Describe,” I commanded, unknowingly slamming my hips forward.
Jasper moaned. “He’s a little shorter than I am, has brown hair, gorgeous eyes, and a smoking body. He’s beautiful and one of the kindest people I have ever met.”
“Human or vampire?”
“Vampire.”
I had to know. “Do you love him?”
“Yes.”
I couldn’t stop the hurt from overwhelming me that time. My movements had stilled and my face was buried into Jasper’s neck. I wasn’t jealous. I wanted my treasure happy, and if I wasn’t the one for him, well… I’d survive. I think…
His lips pressed against my temple. “Hey. I’m talking about you, silly.”
Relief washed over me, though a kernel of hurt and fear remained. What if he ever did find someone besides me? Someone who understood him better, who made him happier…
“I’m not looking for anyone else. I have you, and you’re all I need,” he spoke as if reading my mind.
I raised my head from his shoulder and kissed him hungrily, dominating his mouth.
“I’m sorry. I guess I shouldn’t have done that…” he stated contritely when I pulled back.
I shook my head and leaned close to his ear. “For that…you don’t get to cum until I tell you to.”
Jasper whimpered and thrust his body up, trying to thrust into my hand that rested just above his erection.
I returned the thrust, not moving my hand. Jasper relaxed completely, his head falling back to my shoulder, giving himself to my control, accepting my “punishment.”
His muscles clenched, signaling me to his upcoming release. I immediately slowed myself.
“You had better not,” I warned.
“Please, love,” he whimpered.
“Not until I say so.”
He nodded, moaning as I thrust quickly once again.
“You know why? Because you’re mine. Mine,” I growled as I continued to thrust. I began chanting it like I was one of those stupid birds in Finding Nemo.
“Yours,” Jasper whispered breathily.
My own abdomen was tightening. Jasper turned his head, nipping and sucking just below my ear. I shivered, twisting my neck to kiss him deeply as I came.
A whine escaped his throat as he shuddered against me.
“Are you ready to cum, treasure?” I murmured, teasingly rubbing my hand over his lower abdomen, still not touching him.
He nodded emphatically.
Chuckling, I pulled from him and told him to lie on his back. “How badly do you want to cum, treasure?” I placed my hands by his head and leaned close, not letting our bodies touch anywhere.
“Very badly,” he whimpered.
“Do you think a bad boy like you, who seems to enjoy scaring me, deserves to cum?”
He nodded again.
“Oh? And why is that?”
“Because you love me.”
“I can’t argue with that.” One of my hands gently stroked him as I lowered my body. “Cum for me, treasure.” I took him into my mouth and his almost hot cum immediately hit the back of my throat.
“Remind me to scare you more often,” Jasper muttered when he regained his breath.
I glared.
“I was kidding,” he smiled.
“You’d better be.” I curled into his side and sighed.
“I love you.”
“Just because I know your body and can play it like a finely tuned fiddle?”
“Exactly.”
“Thought so.”
After a pause, he murmured, “I seriously love you, Whitaker. I’m sorry for earlier.”
I nodded against his chest.
“And thank you. I needed this.”
“Me, too.”
See? I didn't kill him! :)
It wasn't too cheesy, was it? Let me know what y'all are thinking.
Oh, and I'm still wondering what any of you think the flowers are all about (like from the last chapter).
DBZchick--Hopefully you're not dead! If you were, you'd miss the end. ;) And thanks. Your review made me happy. :)
