From my current position I couldn’t see anything, so I dropped down to the floor. From here I could see through the spaces between their legs.
Ranger was the first to speak. “Ted” The one word sentence as usual.
“Ranger” Was Edwards only reply. Great another one word conversationalist. “What are you doing here in Ms. Plum’s apartment?” Whoa! A whole sentence. “I could ask you the same thing.” Wow, this is escalating into a full-blown conversation. “Look Ted, I don’t….” Ranger started to speak but was cutoff by Edward. “My name is Edward; Ranger, You know that.” Ranger raised an eyebrow. Man, I don’t think I have ever seen Ranger at a loss for words. They both stood there just staring at each other for so long that I was starting to think that neither of them was going to speak. But just as I was about ready to put a stop to this obvious pissing contest, Edward started to conversation rolling again. “You were saying.”
“I was going to say that I don’t know what job has brought you here, but I will not let you harm Ms. Plum.” What! Why would Ranger think that Edward was here to harm me? And why did he call him Ted? Ok, I think I have been plenty patient. It is time for some answers. Getting up from my spot on the floor I walked around Edward to stand in between the two men.

“Ok, I have had enough of this shit!” “I want answers and I want them NOW!” They both just stood there and stared at me. That’s it that is the last straw. “Look! Somebody better start talking or you can all just leaveht nht now!” I said crossing my arms over my chest. Still no one was budging. Well Damn, It looks like I am going to have to leave I guess. I walked over without a word and picked up my bag and my keys that were lying next to it. I was walking towards my door when Ranger took the opportunity to speak up. “Ah, Babe? Whare are you going?” “I have no desire to be ignored in my own home, so I am leaving.” A sigh escaped Ranger’s lips as he shook his head. “Ok Babe, what do you want to know.” Yes! Man that was close. “First, who is Ted?” I asked looking around the room. Surprisingly Edward was the one who spoke up. “Ted is an alias that I use when I am working.” Ok that was not what I was expecting.
