(Kalona walked through the field, he had heard her invitation to him. “Zoey?” he looked around, he saw the fledgling walk out from behind a tree. Kalona smiled “well well, this is quite the interesting situation. Did you really want me here? Or did I make a mistake?” Kalona grinned “no, I called you here.” the immortal walked over and grabbed her hand. He pulled the fledgling close to him, Zoey found her self staring up into his eyes “so... why did you want me here?” he asked, “there was a cop here earlier, he was asking questions.” Zoey said. She backed a way and then sat down in the grass. “what answers did you give him?” he sat next to her.“i lied, told him how john pissed off a lot of vampires. Didn't name any one, aside from Neferet, but that should keep him busy for a while.” “john? What that the man's name?” he asked “yes” Kalona looked at her with intrigue and curiosity. “so, why would such a good girl like you, one that hates the idea of murder and killing people, suddenly turn and murder a man in cold blood?” Zoey looked away from him, Kalona realized this must be a subject that hit her hard. “he made the past few years of my life hell, every since my mom married him. Its like she didn't care for me or my siblings. John and that stupid church where all that mattered. He called my grandma a witch, talking my mom out of supporting me after I got marked. He even made this big scene on the parent visiting day. But I just had to after my little brother called me.” Kalona had said nothing, “he said that john and that stupid church planned on kidnapping fledglings to burn them as witches and that they were going to start with me.” Kalona reached over, she felt his hand reach around and pull her close. “there must be others, then....” Zoey looked up at him, “would you like my help?” “no, I’m done, I don’t want to push my luck.” she said “i see” Kalona gently kissed her, she felt his lips connect with her own.
“well, if you ever change you're mind, I’m completely willing to give you guidance.” he said, Zoey looked at him “how hard would it be to kill Neferet?'” she asked suddenly. “really? Is that something that has been in consideration?” Zoey nodded “well, right now she is not immortal, though she is very close. I don’t thing it will be that hard, if that’s what you truly want to do.” she nodded “i just want this to end.” “i will see what is possible.” Kalona kissed her again. “Kalona I have to think on this though. I am worried if I continue on, that I’ll get caught and I just don’t want to risk it just yet.” Kalona nodded “i understand.” she looked back into his eyes.)
Zoey sat up in bed, “Kalona” she whispered his name. “Zoey, what is it? Are you alright?” she felt his hands on her shoulders. “yea, I’m fine, it was just a dream.” she said and looked at him, “did he do anything to you?” “no” she laid back down “did he try?” “no” Zoey pulled the covers back over herself. She closed her eyes and tried to go back to sleep “i'm just worried about you. I don’t want anything to happen to you because of him.” she looked back at stark “don't worry, I’m fine.” she said, Zoey closed her eyes again and she felt Stark wrap his arms around her to keep Kalona out of her dreams.
