Family Bonding

Inca watched as Chris slept, he was worried. He trilled softly to himself as he continued to watch. Chris whimpered softly in his sleep, and slowly awoke once again.

“Inca?” Chris asked. Inca smiled at Chris.

~I’m here~ Inca trilled.

“I need a favor.”

~Anything~

Chris smiled and squeezed Inca’s hands. ~What can I do for you?~

“Under the bed there is a case. In that case is a sword. Could you please clean it for me? I need it for when I go after Koichi.”

Inca looked at Chris and shook his head. “Inca please. I have to do this.”

~Chris you’re weakened~

“I’ll heal. I have to go after her to keep her from harming another child.”

~Chris report her to the police. You have enough information on her.~

“And I’d go to jail as well. Izayoi can’t go after her. His legs are still healing. Keri is watching Sammy. Kit isn’t in any condition nor is Jeff. I don’t want my father involved in this.”

~I’ll clean the sword, but you heal before you go hunting.~

“I am healed Inca. I need to get out of here and go after that bitch.”

~No. Not until the doctors say you can go. Now rest or I’ll be forced to make you rest.~

“Inca please don’t do this to me.”

~Chris you are not well. You are trying to force yourself to do to much to soon. You will only end up doing more damage to yourself. Do you wish to die and leave myself and Sam alone?~

“Inca I won’t leave you or Sam alone. But I have to stop this woman.”

~When you are healed.~

Chris tried to sit up, and Inca placed a hand on his chest and gently pushed him back down onto the bed. ~Rest.~

Chris sighed and faced the window.

“You won’t let me leave will you?”

Inca nodded his head. “Damn it.”

The door opened and closed softly.

“Sounds like you’re trying to do too much too soon son.” Damian said. Chris turned to face his father.

“Hi dad.” Chris said.

~Hello.~ Inca trilled.

“He’s not being mean to you is he Inca? Christopher can be a bad patient.” Damian said.

“Gee thanks dad. You’re here early. Fed all ready I take it.” Chris said.

“Yes. Nathaniel was kind enough to be waiting for me to awaken.”

“He’s always been nice to you.”

“How are you feeling?”

“Not too bad. I want out of here. I’m healed honestly.”

“Inca is he telling the truth?”

Inca trilled and shook his head. “Christopher you need to heal and rest. Taking a full bottle of sleeping pills and drinking a vial of holy water was a nasty combination.”

“I know that, but I’m better. I swear it.”

“The nurse outside told me you need to stay here for at least a week.”

“She’s lying. She just wants me to stay for my body.”

“Christopher you need to stay here and get better. You nearly burned your insides to a crisp.”

“I’m better.”

“Are you holding down solid foods?”

“Well no.”
