Strange Pairing

Diece sighed and scowled as she saw Lysceander walking around again. She’d seen the rider walk off with some hold girl, and they’d certainly been gone for a while. Fynnalth couldn’t locate either of them on the Gather grounds at all. Now Lysceander was walking around with a smug smile on her face, and she saw the same girl on the arm of some young man, her eyes looking slightly dazed. >You don’t think that they could have been…<
Her dragon caught on quickly. >It’s possible… but it is only a hold girl. You know how Lys feels about hold-bred people. Are you jealous Diece?<
The girl grumbled as she watched Lysceander meet with one of the Lord Holders, who seemed very happy to see her, with great guffaws and back pounding going around. >Maybe a little. I was always sure that Dreake would be able to fly you if he rose for a mating… It’s just… Lys is so… even before she came back all charming an suave.< Diece sighed and grumbled to herself, turning toward V’keth again and walking with him to the dancing grounds as he had asked twice before.
“V’keth… when someone who you thinks likes you pays attention to you, then all of a sudden they barely seem to notice you… when that happens, does it mean they’ve gotten over you?” Diece asked as they dance. He laughed. “What?”
“Are you jealous because H’velle is so busy concentrating on trying to impress Lysceander that he doesn’t pay attention to you anymore?” He asked teasingly.
“Ewe, shells of course not!” she gagged. “But seriously… is that what it means?”
“Well, it depends on the person… and if it really was all of a sudden.” He said gently, then spun her. “Who are we talking about?”
“Nevermind.” She sighed and finished the set with him. “I’ve got to go.”
V’keth frowned and watched in confusion as she walked away. “Bye…”
