The Hare VS the Cat
I've been starting to work on pictures of the Characters in this story... And The cat is up now. If You would like to see how he looks like for me, and also to see others like Adonis that I shall be drawing. Then go here: http://www.monkeysfly.net/sun/oekaki/index.php?artist=Sailor+AuroraAlso, I might be putting up my Sailor Aurora Fan fiction too soon, just so you know what the hell I've been working on that prevented me from updating Alice the 19th. If you would like to read the other story, let me know and I will put it up here. It's all about a somewhat dysfunctional Royal Family that rules an alien planet in the far distant galaxy set in the Sailor Moon Universe. It mentions slashy themes, and has the dark family secrets, murder and Bertyal. That is all. Enjoy the chapter, the latest insllation ofAlice the 19th=========================================== Alice stepped out of the tree-shaped house (which she found to be kind of cramped, what with all the junk that was stored in there), now fully clothed. She had to admit that this was much better than her state of undress before. Not to mention she liked the clothing that she was wearing, it was cute. She was wearing a similar version of the first Alice's dress (as shown in the images of the books that her famous an sector wrote), only it was a dark navy color, and much shorter. The skirt came down a few inches right above the knees. She also dediced to go with the tradition of all the previous Alices, her ancestors by wearing an apron over her dress. She could not find any approate leggings that was her size though. So she had to go for the only legging that was her size. Fishnet leggings. She still had her striped headband and arm warmers from before, along with her original shoes. So now it looks like she could go to find Adonis comfortably now. "Much betterrr...That way, you will not be practally begging to be raped." A voice purred, and the cat appeared once again. "Now let's get going. I hope you do not mind if I do some little bit of hunting along the way...I'm starving." "Not at all." Alice replied, "Lead the way, I shall follow... what else can I do? I do not know this forest very well, anyway. But please hurry, I do not even know what is happening to Adonis." The Cat grinned once more. With that, he started walking all on fours (he found it faster and easier to move that way, even if he had a humanoid body). Alice followed, trying to keep up a quick pace so that she would not linger way too far behind for the Cat's liking. He seemed like the sort to do something rash, and unpredictable if people did not do what he liked. With that, she found herself on the same, familar-looking yellow road that had been the same color as the road to The Mad Hatter's. She suddenly had the silly urge to start singing 'follow the yellow brick road' in a parody where it would not be all about going to the wizard, but rather to the hatter's place. She fought it down. After all, this was no time to be childish... not to mention she was a teenager after all. She needed to focus, otherwise Adonis was going to be in deep trouble. ~~**~~~*~~~***~~~*~~~**~~ Adonis shuddered, suddenly. He then rubbed his own arms, trying to fight off that weird feeling he got out of the blue.Another pair of arms wrapped themselves around Adonis's body, and helped along in rubbing his arms. "You cold or something? I can lend you my jacket." Hatter's voice asked, his breath feeling hot against Adonis's ears and neck. Adonis smiled. "No, It's not that. I just have this strangest feeling.... like something's going to happen to Alice...or to me. It's just this bad feeling, you know? Also, I am sort of scared. I mean, I am not really scared. But just kind of. You know? " He stumbled over his own words, not really wanting to admit everything straight out. He was still confused of what was going on with himself. Unlike other teenagers, he was not that familiar with himself and why he even thought of doing the things he wanted to do. He was more comfortable just going along with what everyone else wanted of him, most especially Alice because she was the one he trusted the most. Just since he did not have to think too much about certain things... like why lias sas so shitty. The Hatter's mismatched eyes narrowed in thought, regarding Alice. He had seen the torn clothing on the ground outside. So it was most likely that Alice had ran away completely naked. And there was few roads leading away from the Mad Hatter's. So if she did not go by the Healer's house; It was most likely that she had gone into the most dangerous places of them all besides the Queen's Castle: The dark forest. There lived the menace and the many worst nightmares of the many people who barely made it out alive, The Cheshire Cat. The Cat was very well-known for going after anything alive. Often it was for dinner. The cat did not care whenever it was. Human, furry creatures or any other race. Just as long as it was fresh meat. And even when He was not hungry, he also had a cruel hobby. He was a trickster, so he often liked to mislead innocents into many forms of danger, or to mess around with thier minds until they were driven insane. There was many horror stories with him in it.. and also about what happened in the dark forest that made him very famous thougout wonderland. The Cat didn't make any friends or have friends, far as he knew. If he had any, there wasn't that many. So it was unlikely that Alice was safe right now. Most ly thy that she was being eaten, or running though the forest screaming from some horror that the cat was inflicting on her. "I'm sure that Alice is okay. " The Hatter lied, "She provably went to the next cottage house. Which if memory serves right, is the White Rabbit's house. If you do not know him, He is the queen's assistant. Somebody of such honorable position surely would not leave a damsel in distress all alone by herself. " Adonis was shat hat comforted by those words, and he turned around to hug The Hatter. However, he was not still sure. "Are you sure? I saw a few roads leading away from your house..she could had gone down any of them. " He asked, worried. He then confessed: "You know, this is the longest time I've been away from Alice or any other family members. I mean, I went away occasionally for school. But never for this long...and this is my first time in a whole new land, which I happen to not be familiar The Hatter then pulled him close, hugging him tightly. He kissed the top of Adonis's head as he replied: "Don't you worry. I am here arent I? I will not let anything happen to you...you're mine, after all. I shall do anything to protect you, and I will not let anybody else touch you. " With that, he kissed the forehead, and then started moving his kisses south until his mouth cameo coo contact with Adonis's mouth. It was that The hatter was dermined to distract Adonis away from his own thoughts, and his own worries in his own little way. Adonis thought for a moment that he should not let the hatter kiss him in such a manner. As seeing they were both strangers. Last night did not really count, he had let his own hormones take over... he could not think very well last night. Not that it was not enjoyable, though...and the Hatter did seem like a very nice person. Come to think of it, he did make the same exact promise to him that Alice did, about protecting him from any danger at all. It was still weird, although he could not put his finger on why it was so strange. It felt so nice though... He had never been kissed before, and he had no idea that it would feel so nice. Just simply to kiss without anything sexual going on. Thinking about all the reasons and morals on why he should not do all those things, especially with a very young-looking 200-year-old man, were making his head hurt. Granted, he was scared of perverts and people who did horrible things, like what Alice had described to him. But surely not everyone was like that... and it would be certainly nice to just relax and enjoy something instead of always worrying about everything like he normally did. Oh bloody hell, He might as well as toss morals and logic out the window for now. After all, in a place like this they probably would not last very long anyway...... Adonis smiled at the blonde man holding him in his arms, his green eyes meeting the mismatched pair of eyes that were currently questioning him for pulling away. "Sorry about that. I just wanted to take a little bit of breather. I wasn't trying to get away from the kissing." Adonis said. "I would not mind if you did it some more.." The relived Hatter was only too happy to oblige. After all, They only had a couple of hours to kill before they set out on the road once again to get the one herb that the Healer needed.~*~~**~~*~ "Twinkle, Twinkle little bat! How I wonder what you are at!" The March Hare sang, as he swung his axe around in a rather dangerous fashion, in time to the tune. "Up above the world you fly, Like a tea-tray in the sky. Twinkle, twinkle..." Here he trailed off, for he realized that he was in the middle of the dark forest now. He felt unsure suddenly, because he had heard the stories about the forest... maybe it had been a mistake to come this way... The Mad Hatter would not surely come this way, would he? But then again, this was also the one road that was the fastest shortcut to the Queen of Heart's Palace, and Mad Hatter had once mentioned that one of those days that he would like to go back to the palace to kill that miserable bitch for what she did all those years ago. But he wasn't that stupid, the Queen was much more powerful than she was all those years ago since he made that remark. Pausing once again to look both ways, as to select whenever to head on forward, or to turn back. He turned back, as deciding that perhaps going though the forest would not be very good for his health. It was then that he heard the gasp of a familiar voice. "Why, it's the March Hare!" Alice gasped, although not from fear... it was mostly from anger. She turned to look for the Cat, only he seemed to have disappeared from sight. She hoped that he was close by, and maybe even watching this whole thing. She did not want to be completely alone with this Hare freak, after all. Especially now that he seemed to have an axe in one hand. The March Hare turned around, and could hel help but grin as he caught sight of Alice. Seems like his day was not a total loss, after all. He might just have his fun after all. But first. "Say, you seen the Mad Hatter or the Dormouse? Let's just say I need to chat with them on some things, but they left house rudely, along with that pretty boy. Answer correctly, and I might just leave you alone. For now." "I have not seen them at all. None of them are with you? Where did they all go, especially with Adonis?" Alice asked, processing this new information. She was ready to do something like tackling the Hare to the ground, though. Should he try something again. And not to mention she was now angry beyond normal logic, and just wanted to make The Hare suffer for what he tried to do to her... "Aw! I hope they did not go to see the Queen of Hearts. But then again, The Mad Hatter wouldn't be that stupid..." The Hare said out loud, groaning to himself. He thurneurned his attention back on Alice, who was giving him a strange look. "Oh well. since I cannot seem to find the Mad Hatter right now, I guess I will settle for something else.." The Hare muttered, as he moved towards Alice. Alice was about to lunge towards the hare, when The Cheshire cat appeared out of nowhere. The hare let out a startled gasp, as he stepped backwards. He did some more back stepping when he realized that he was looking right at the Menace of wonderland himself. "mm mm, I have not had eaten rabbit meat in a long time...Maybe it's about time I had some again.." The Cheshire cat hissed, though his trademark grin. "You know, You should not had been such a fool enough to mess around with the only friend of mine...Otherwise, you might had escaped with your own life.." The hare blinked. Crap, that brown-haired bitch was a friend of the Cheshire Cat?! Then at that moment Realization hit him right in the face. Of course, why did not he see it before? Her name was Alice...and did not the history books here mention a somewhat famous girl named Alice who had actually befriended the Cheshire Cat and became queen of her own domain at one point? Come to think of it, did not He met Alice before in the past...But she kept on changing so much, it was easy to forget her. He shook his head, as to clear his head. "Whatever...Friends or not, she's still going to pay for annoying me.." The Cheshire cat simply responded in three words: "I think not." and with that he leaped into the air towards The Hare. The Hare reacted by swinging his axe at the cat, But his aim was very as as seeing it missed by one inch. The both of them fell to the ground, struggling with one other. The hare kicked at the cat with his powerful hare legs, which sent the cat flying into the air. He rolled over, and got to his feet just as The cat landed right on his feet. They lunged at each other again, The cat with his claws bared and Hare's axe swinging wildly. The hare brought the axe down hard, which luckily only managed to graze the cat's back as The cat jumped away. The cat managed to leave claw marks as he moved back in for an attack, on Hare's chest. The hare swung the heavy axe about again. Alice wondered to herself whenever she should get involved into the fight too herself, but then thought better of it. After all, she had no weapons. So she did the only thing she could do... she cheered the Cheshire cat on. "Go and get that barmy bastard, Cat!" Unfountuely this distracted the cat somewhat for he was not used to being cheered on, and the hare took this chance to bring the flat side of the axe down on The cat's head, which sent the cat flying to the ground. There, he laid there as if he was dead. "Crikey!" Alice cried out, as she ran over to see if the Cheshire cat was dead. The Hare started laughing manically, obviously happy that for once something was going his way on this miserable day. "Get out of the way, Alice. Unless you want to be chopped up too, but that'd be such a shame. " The Hare said, as he raised his axe. Alice then looked up at the Hare. She said with such feicousity, that she actually surpised The hare: "Over my dead body, only then would I let you do that!" With that She lunged toward him. The Hare just blinked, obviously not having expected this. He found himself tackled to the ground, and the axe knocked out of hisds.\rds. "What the hell's with you that you have to make everything difficult for me?" The Hare muttered angrily, as he knocked Alice away. He got up, and then kicked Alice directly in the face, which knocked her out. He turned around to go get his axe to finish them off, now again whistling the teacup tune. As he reached for his Axe, he noticed that the cat was now gone. He looked around quickly, suddenly realizing that Alice had probably distracted him with enough time for cat to recover. "What do you think you are doing with that axe? I think you've played with it long enough. Where you are going, you will not need it anymore." A familar-sounding voice hissed in his ears, which startled The hare, as seeing there was nobody around expect him and Alice now. At least, none that he could see. 'oh crap...' The hare thought to himself, groaning. It seems that the tales of the Cheshire cat was true after all. Especially the parts where he could become invisible whenever he hunted his prey. The last thing he saw was a floating grinning moin tin the air, which opened to reveal deadly-looking fangs, as it closed down on his throat. He was not even given a chance to scream. ~~**~~**~~ Adonis was walking down the road, following The Mad Hatter when he had the same strange feeling again. He shuddered once more, as a cold chill went down his back. He slowed down, as he seemed to go into a zombie-like trace. As it happened, he started having a very disturbing vision of some half-cat, half-human creature ripping the head off a very familar-looking hare person. The cat-person then proceeded to feast on the raw flesh. "Somebody just died...a very horrible death too. At the hands of the cat.." He blurted out, without even realizing that he had said it. The Mad hatter turned to look at Adonis. "Now, what makes you say that?" "Huh?" Adonis blinked, snapping out of it. He looked up at the mad hatter with a confused look. "What? Did I say something?" The Hatter gave Adonis a strange look. He then shook his head. "Never mind. Let's keep on going, and by evening we should reach the Duchess's house. The healer said that she should have the herbs needed to help dormouse." Adonis smiled. "Yes, I know that. Say, could you give me your jacket? I think I might be getting cold from the strange winds here.." "Sure, but only if you keep up with me. We cannot walk like a bunch of snails here, otherwise at this rate we won't reach the duchess's house in the next ten years!" "Heh, no problem.." Adonis grinned, as he ran up to the Hatter, and took a hold of his hand. The Hatter peeled off his jacket, and put it around Adonis's shoulder. With that, they went on their way.~~~**~~~**~~~ Evening came, and Alice woke up to find half of her face sorely bruised. She also found herself lying by a fire. She sat up quickly, and found the Cheshire cat staring at her. She found herself jumping towards the cat, and hugging him. "You're okay! For a moment, I thought the Hare might had..." Alice trailed off, as she suddenly found herself embrassed at hugging a naked humanoid cat. She hastily pulled away, which caused the Cheshire cat to chuckle. "You should know by now, Alice. Nobody gets the best of me and gets away with it." "Well, that's great. Where's the Hare?" "The hare will not be walking the lands of the living, that I can say.." The Cheshire replied, grinning now. He then held out a bag that seemed to be made out of some hide, towards Alice. Alice took it, and then asked: "What's in it?" "Food." Was The Cat's simple reply, as He started circling his selected sleeping spot. After he settled down to sleep, he murmured: "You can eat that if you are hungry. But if not, save that for tomorrow." Alice pulled out strips of meat, which looked like jerky to her. However, when she started eating it, it tasted different from jerky. It tasted much better than any jerky that she had ever tasted. "What kind of meat is this? It tastes nothing like I've eaten.." The cat opened one eye to look at her. He then answered: "It's Hare meat." "Oh." Alice simply said, as if that explained everything. She gnawed on it as something started nagging at tat the corner of her mind. That was when she realized that she was not just eating any hare at all... but most likely a certain troublesome hare. She thought that she should had spit out the meat out of decency, but she was hungry and could not bring herself to. So she just kept on nibbling the strips of meat. She wondered if she had became a cannibal now, considering that the Hare had looked like he could be possibly be half human... The cat still had his one eye open, and he chuckled silently. He was amused by the look on Alice's expression, as she had obviously realized what the meat had once been. He then closed his eyes and settled down to sleep. Soon, Alice also settled down to sleep. With that, Night came.~~~~***~~~~**~~~~~The end of the latest chapter. But certainly not the end of Alice the 19th ^^In the next chapter, Adonis and The Mad Hatter finds themselves in a strange situation at the Duchess's house....And Alice also explains Her family history, which also covers the certain powers that her family had.
