How I Spent My Summer Vacation

Chapter 9

When I woke up I was stiff and sore. My cell phone was ringing. I fumbled for it and checked the caller ID. It was Alice.

"You guys okay? Emmett said he could hear you two going at it all the way over here."

I rolled my eyes. "Ha ha, he's hilarious."

"So seriously, are you okay?"

"We're fine, why?"

"Well Aro tried to reach you earlier. The park isn't opening until noon today, because of all the rain we had yesterday, he said hopefully if the rides dry we can open up today, if not we get another day off."

"I'm surprised I didn't hear the phone ring when Aro called."

"Yeah, well a frigging tornado could have come through and you wouldn't have noticed. Seriously, as much sex as you guys have been having, are you even using anything?"

My eyes widened in horror.

"Shit!"

"What?!!" she exclaimed.

"I totally forgot to refill my prescription." I clamped my hand over my mouth in horror.

"Oh Bella, tell me you didn't."

"Oh my god."

"What are you going to do?"

"Nothing."

"Nothing?" she squeaked. "Are you crazy?"

"No, Alice, I'm not. I'm in love with Edward."

"Charlie will kill you if you get pregnant."

"I'm 18, he can't do anything to me. If he kicks me out, Edward and I can get our own place."

"I just hope you know what you're doing."

Edward found me in the bathroom, staring at the calendar.

"Love, are you okay?" I looked up with a worried expression.

"I did something totally stupid."

"I'm sure it's not the end of the world, tell me." He lifted my face so I could see his expression.

"I forgot to call the pharmacy and refill my birth control prescription. I meant to, but I just totally spaced it out." He didn't say anything for a minute.

"Edward, I'm so sorry."

"Why are you apologizing?"

"We're only 18, we should have been more responsible."

"Would it really be a bad thing?"

"What are you talking about?"

"Having a child?"

"Are you serious?"

"My parents were 18 when they had me. They got married shortly after."

"But Charlie..."

"You're 18, you're legally an adult, he can't really say anything."

"But what about school?"

"We'll work something out."

"I can't believe you actually want to have kids."

"As long as you're the mother, I want kids. I want to have babies with you."

Just when I thought I couldn't love him anymore, he goes and says something like that. Tears welled up in my eyes, and he brushed them away with his thumb.

"What time do we have to work?"

"As soon as Aro calls," I replied. He smiled.

"Then I guess we'd better get started." Without a word he led me into the bedroom.

I was pretty sure I was dreaming. It was Friday night, and I was looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow, but I had the strangest feeling I was being watched. My aunt and uncle were gone for the night, but I had told Edward not to come over unless I got scared, I needed some sleep. The clock on the stand said it was midnight, and it was way too quiet. I fumbled for my phone and texted Edward.

Are you awake? He replied back almost immediately. Yes, I miss you.
Can you come over? I'm scared, I need you. I smiled as I read his reply. I'll be there in 5 minutes love.

I gasped when I saw the shadow in my room. Trust Edward to sneak up on me. I laughed nervously as I reached out for him. That's when I noticed the shadow was way too tall for Edward. I started to scream when a hand clamped over my mouth and as my eyes adjusted to the darkness I saw the face of my attacker. Felix.

"Get off me!" I screamed and twisted, trying to get him off me, but he was too strong. I could only muffle a scream as he ripped my shirt and shorts off with his other hand. When he got to my underwear I panicked, trying to kick him in the crotch, which only made him mad.

"Shut up you little bitch, or I'll kill you!" he growled, ripping my bra off and placing his body over mine. Ugh, why in the world did I ever want to be with him?
I just closed my eyes and prayed for it to be over quick.

Felix was panting and grunting, trying to get me to cooperate, but my body shut down. He wasn't the one I wanted, not anymore. My heart no longer felt anything for him, except for disgust right now. Just when he was ready to blow, I could tell he close by the way he was breathing, I let out a terrifying scream, and he spilled inside me just as the door was ripped off its hinges, and Emmett, Jasper, and Edward came crashing through the door. Jasper and Emmett pulled Felix off of me while Edward threw a sheet over me. I heard a couple of thuds and then Edward pulled the sheet off of my face.

"What happened?" I asked.

"Emmett just knocked him out cold. Jasper's calling 911."

"Ugh, I need a shower."

"No, Bella, you need to go talk to the hospital, if you take a shower you'll remove the evidence."

"Can I at least put some clothes on?"

The clothes I'd had on earlier were ruined, but Edward gathered them all up and placed them in a bag to take along with us. I finally put on a pair of shorts and a tanktop, finding a bra and pair of panties that were decent enough. I put on flip flops, not even bothering to put socks on. I tried to walk, but I stumbled around, my legs like jelly, so Edward scooped me up and threw me over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes, and handed me the bag of clothes.

"Here, I'll carry you, you hold on to this, it's evidence." We walked past Emmett and Jasper, who were hovered over Felix's unconscious form.

"We'll wait here for the cops, bro, get her to the hospital." He carried me to his car, settling me in the passenger seat and buckling me in.

"This is ridiculous, I'm fine, Edward, why do we have to go to the hospital?"

"It's standard procedure for rape victims, they have to check you out and make sure there's no internal damage."
