Alice the 19th

Alice the 19th
=============
Alice Carroll came from a rather extensive family tree that went away all back to ancient England. It was the family that was well known especially for having the famous Lewis Carroll, who wrote the story of "Alice in Wonderland", along with many other unusual family members.
However, there is a family secret... is the fact that Wonderland was actually real. And were a parallel world in which the females (usually the ones named Alice) and on occasion the rare male of the family, could access using a mystic power that carried on in their genes and bloodline.
However, not all people in the family knew of this. Only a few select few was carried on to share this secret. Mainly because despite the books (which left out a lot of the truths as not to frighten children and some adults), Wondnd wnd was a rather horrifying and dangerous place.
That was the other reason why the secret was scarcely known along most of the family--the one who held the secret was only willing to pass it on to those who they deemed to be mature, old enough to know it. And not to risk any foolishness should they risk their necks by going to Wonderland.
Alice Carroll, also known as Alice the 19th... did not know of the secret until her 13th birthday. Unfortunately for her, that day her beloved grandma had a sudden heart attack, and had to be rushed to the emergency ward. On the way there in the van, Grandma Carroll had started telling Alice all about the secret of wonderland. And on how to access to it. However, before She could warn Alice the 19th of the dangers, she died.
Afterwards, in the course of the years things seemed to get worse for our poor latest generation Alice. Her family house got caught on fire, killing her father. Her father had been the one who supported the whole family, as seeing Alice's mother had chosen a rather old-fashioned stance in life. And that was to be a stay-at-home homemaker and mother.

The fire and his death had left them with little money, forcing them to sell the lands and some of their possessions. With that, they were also forced to live in a rather bad part of London, where the thugs and the other generally unruly people lived.
So Alice and her sibling, Adonis James Carroll. were forced to learn some forms of defending themselves, along with having to carry weapons like a switchblade and pepper stray. Otherwise, they would most likely get robbed, beat up. Or worse, molested and raped. Alice and her younger brother grew especially close in those parts out of necessity. After all, it was the only way they would survive together, while their mother went off to try to work to get enough money.

As the days passed, Alice often found herself wishing to be somewhere else than here. But found herself unwilling staying here because of her young brother. Especially as he was a rather beautiful and handsome red-haired boy. The kind that most girls would wish to be older so that they could snog him, and unfortunately the kind that perverts would totally love to molest.
Adonis was more innocent and more trusting than Alice was in some ways, leaving himself open to anything unpleasant. Whenever he knew it or not. Whereas Alice was now 17, He was only 14 years old.

But the final straw for both of them was when their mother had married a rather abusive man, only so that she could go back to being a wife who stayed at home all day. He was truly a horrid man, who constantly yelled at everyone, hit Alice's mother whenever he felt in the mood to relive some stress. And most of all, he was a pervert. He constantly tried to grope Alice's body because he liked the fact that Alice was rather big-breasted for a young girl, and had a sweet-looking body.
Alice thenrtedrted thinking about what her dear grandma had said to her, and wondered if what she said was really true. If only she would go to wonderland. The desire gained by every passing day... and the only thing that held her back was her dear young brother.
He needed to be protected, after all.

But all that changed one day when she came home from school to catch her perverted stepfather drunk and trying to make advances on Adonis. Even going as far as to trying to force himself on Adonis. Enraged, Alice went and attacked him with something she grabbed near her, which just happened to be a fireplace poker.
Not even checking to see if the man was dead or just merely unconscious, Alice had then grabbed Adonis and then dragged him upstairs where they went to pack some of their clothes and some food. Alice then opened up one of the family's heirlooms--a big, folding mirror. (That was also said to be a doorway to wonderland), and Alice said the magic words.

And with that, they stepped though into wonderland with a suitcase and a picnic basket in hand...

Sorry for the lengthy intro, the good stuff will be on chapter two, that I can promise you :)
The intro was only merely to tell you about what Alice's family was like, and how she came to be going though the "Looking Glass".
Also, I had to explain why Alice had a little Brother called Adonis.
