Mrs Hudson's Dilemma

So, Mr Holmes's latest case came to a successful conclusion today. I'm very glad for him, but that means I won't get much sleep tonight. (sighhhhh..) They must think I'm some doddering old woman who doesn’t have any idea about the two of them. HA! It's a foolish landlady indeed who doesn't know what's going on in her own household.

I suppose it will start the same as usual; an evening in front of the fire, the two of them discussing the case, the weather or God knows what else. The exaggerated "goodnight!" designed to make me believe they were off to their own beds.....the light footsteps on the stair carpet -- either Mr Holmes creeping up to Dr Watson's room or Dr Watson creeping down to Mr Holmes's room, I can always tell when it's in Mr Holmes's room because it’s right above my own...I suppose The Great Detective forgets those small details when he's in the throes of passion

Then the hushed whispers, the kissing noises, or worse, that "other" noise. (sighhhh..) Then the moaning starts. Softly at first, but then it gets louder and louder and louder (they really could be more quiet. After all, and old woman needs her rest..), then the excited shouts as if someone had just scored the winning rugby goal! Hmpf!

I really don't mind, but one of these days I must tell Mr Holmes that, for a famous detective known for his use of disguises, he does a terrible job of concealment when he climbs into bed with the good Doctor.

Oh well, boys will be boys.

And they always pay their rent!
