Letting herself savor the sweet warm breeze upon her face. And the feel of the long feild grass brush against her fair peach skin. Her long strawberry blonde hair splayed around her shoulders, which had been covered by a plain white shirt under a long green dress with slender straps at her shoulders. Despite being a simple village peasent, Nari felt she lived a comfortable life. She worked for her wealthy uncle, in his butcher shop. It was dirty, the stentch of animal meat was unbearable, and lastly, the pay was bad. But sometimes it was worth it, when she did get paid she was able to spend it on anything she liked. As her uncle let her live with him and his family. Rent free. When she opened her eyes again, she smiled to herself and stared up at the afternoon sky. It was a blue, with a few puffy white clouds. She could have sworn that one cloud was the shape of a wild horse. Much like those she had seen when she was a little girl. Her and her cousin would run around and play in the moutains. And then find themselves in a clearing. Where they could see for miles and miles a group of wild horses. Nari never forgot those days when she was a child. One in particaular. She was ten, in this same feild. She was laughing a playing with her cousin, Talreala. When they heard the sound of hoofbeats. Talreala had taken off. Nari stayed and stared into the forest. From the trees. A group of none of which she had never seem emerged into the clearing on horse back. Nari stood there and stared. They all had black gray skin. All of them. They seemed to have been lead by a bald one with an eye patch over his left eye. Where they mercanaries? She wondered. They did not ride passed her. Rather, they pulled their horses to a halt. The leader stared down at Nari. And she stared back with little fear in her eyes. No fear, just curiousity. What were these new comers? She wondered. " Excuse me, little one." Began the leader." Where might the road to the Mirthiral Halls be?"He asked. Nari had simply smiled and pointed them in the right direction. "As gratitude for your help...." The leader began, dismounting his horse, which was as black as he. He knelt down to her,"....I shall give you this." He said and handed her a necklace with a spider on it, and a red jewel on it''s abdoman." I thank you for your help." He said, taking her little hand and playfully placing a small kiss upon it. With that he mounted his stead and slammed his heals into it''s side and the entancing group rode off. Nari never forgot. She learned later that who she had encountered were drows. The Bregan D''aerthe. A band of Mercanaries. Land sharks. Murders, theives. Worshippers of the Spider Queen, Lloth. She was warned her whole life of dark elves. Bit Nari never paid attention. But always hid the necklace that one drow had given her. He was so kind, polite and handsome to her. She never had a night where he wasn''t in her dreams. With that memory in mind, she closed her eyes and thought of him again took in a deep breath. And then she the same sound, hoof beats coming from the forests. Nari opened her eyes quickly and stood. Her long hair swayed to and fro.She stared longer and then the Bregan D''aerthe themselves rode from the trees, but did not stop for Nari. No, they rode in the direction of her Village, Fier''Dal.( Champion''s of Norrath''s, Not mine) Nari, realized, some carried torches. Therefor they were going to her town to pillage it. So quickly she grabbed her shoes and took off towards her shortcut that lead her home faster then the way the drow went. " Uncle!"She called running into her uncle''s butcher shop. " Uncle!" She called." The drow reagades!" Her uncle lifted an eyebrow and walked outside, that was when the hoofbeats had stopped. Shouting and arguing could be heard." Stay here," Her uncle order as he grabbed his sword. Talreala ran to Nari," You saw the beasts?" She asked. Nari said nothing and walked towards the back to try and watch from the side of her Uncle''s butcher shop. Which it did not matter anyway, because five minutes later, the drow men forced people from their homes. Nari stayed where she was and turned her attention to the elder citizen. She watched as the lead drow shoved him from his home, with three bags of gold in his hands, kicking the elder in the butt." Is this all your; quant town has to offer, old one?" The leader asked with anger. Strange, Nari could not help but notice his eye patch was on his right eye this time. No one spoke. Nari glanced around. Then noticed the leader smile," Very well," He began." I shall simply have to take some of your most valued women, virgins perferably and sell them for slavery." He announced. " No!" Nari called from the side of the shop.Running out towards the leader. " Nari!"Talreala called. " Stop!" Shouted her uncle. Quickly, and seemingly unoticed, the lead drow threw out his dagger and held it to her throat as she reached him," Does this woman not know manners?" He asked with anger. " Please, don''t hurt her." Nari''s uncle begged. Nari''s lip quivered slightly, but she still stared into his radiant glowing red orb. Her eyes moved to stare at his wide brimmed plum colored hat with the long feather in it. His pointy ears were pierced. One loop earing in his earlobe. Then some others gold, leading to the tip of his ear. This drow was undeniably handsome.Clad in a dark blue vest, opened. So his chest was exposed. His left nipple was pierced. As was his belly button. He wore black leather pants and black boots. His long blue dark cloak swayed in the slight breeze. But she had to hide her feelings and thoughts. For this was a dangerous time. The leader stared down at her for a moment and smirked."You are the butcher''s niece." He mused. She nodded slightly. "I must admit there is a stronge beauty in your face. " Within a fluid motion, he swiped her over, where he had her dipped to his side. His hand that did not hold his dagger supported the small of her back. Nari''s eyes widened slightly as his blade gingerly caressed her neck." I can also tell you are beautiful else where upon your body." He said. He drew her back up to where he pressed his body behind her. Dagger against her throat. By now Nari''s uncle and cousin paniced. But were held at arrow point, therefor could do nothing. The drow had dropped the bags of coins. " Elder!" Began the handsome dark elf." I shall spare your meaningless town, leave your treasures, and ignore the virgins. But I take this girl. For a sacrifice to Lloth" He said. " No!" Nari''s uncle called. " Yes!" Nari yelled, a choke in her voice." Please sir, spare this village. And I shall go with you." She said. Her breathing was heavy. But she knew he was staring at her heaving chest. " Tell me." Whispered the drow that held her tightly."Do you a bit of drow in you?" He asked. And he was softly speaking, so only she heard him. " No." She muttered. When she peared back at him, he was smirking slyly," Would you like to?" He asked. Nari somehow knew what he meant, and she shivered at the thought. Before Nari, knew it, the dagger was removed from her throat and the leader shover her into one of his men, who was suprisingly not a drow, he was human." She shall ride with you." He said. Then gave Nari a quick wink before turning to mount his horse. And before Nari knew it, they were headed from the village.
