Chapter 1
~*Starburst*~
AN: Hello and welcome to my new story! Alright, first things first a brief summary of what is to come...
This is an AU fic set post-Eclipse and continuing during Breaking Dawn. A mysterious woman arrives in Forks with a vendetta against the Quilette wolves. Displaying a multitude of powers and resources that no ordinary human should have, both the Cullen family and the Quilette wolves have to decide quickly whether this is a common enemy or a powerful ally.
^.^
Now, this is a Jacob/OFC fic. Basically, if I understand the terminology correctly, this story is a slight Mary Sue. I'm trying to keep her as "real" as I can but she will seem somewhat larger than life for a bit but I'm trying my utmost to avoid that.
To avoid confusion, words that are italicized will be defined at the bottom of the fic.
Thank you and have a pleasant read. Remember, the review button is very clickable at the bottom of your page :)
(I have to say this)

I tightened my grip around Edward's neck as he flew through the forest in his usual fashion. Carlisle, Alice and Jasper were behind them but if I tried to look back they'd only be a blur. They had been running for quite some time now and Edward gave no indication of growing tired.
He also gave no indication of stopping.
It all started when a strange scroll was found stuck on the front door of the Cullen mansion. The symbols were foreign and the paper felt thick and old in my hand. It had been so strange. The paper seemed so harmless; I mean, how badly could it hurt someone? That's what I had thought when Emmett tried the door. He was so big and strong...How could a piece of paper hurt him?
How could it nearly kill him?
Emmett had been blasted across the room and through the living room wall into the facade of the dining room. He landed on the table, crushing it under his weight, size and strength. But it wasn't the table that had hurt him, nor the trip through the wall. It was a silly little piece of paper. The force of the blast knocked loose a piece of wood from inside the wall. When I had gotten to him, (all the other had been next to him as soon as he stopped) I saw the wood protruding from his chest; exactly where his heart was. Like an old novel, where they would kill Vampires with a stake to the heart.
Carlisle had to be the one to remove it. Jasper had lost control at the scent of the blood and had to be "escorted" out by Alice, Edward and Esme. Rosalie bravely fought against her hunger and stayed; holding Emmett's hand the entire time, whispering encouragement too fast for my human ears to hear. Carlisle managed to get the stake out in one attempt and threw it across the room. Rosalie sat bravely at his side, clutching his hand and obviously not breathing. Emmett had closed his eyes and not reopened them. Carlisle assured everyone that he was still alive but it would take time for his body to repair the extensive damage.
That's when Carlisle asked me to remove the scroll from the door. Edward initially protested, big surprise, but he knew his adopted father had a reason for choosing the only human among them for this task. I hesitated as my fingers grasped the edge of the old parchment. It fluttered into my hand inconspicuously, completely contrary to the destruction it had just wrought upon my new family. Edward wordlessly handed me a silver lighter and I touched it to the edge of the paper. It burned far too quickly. That's when he scooped me up and we started running.
*_* (Change POV - Tsubaki)
I followed them soundlessly through the trees. I flew as easily as they did though arguably not as gracefully. No one could match the ease and grace of these dark creatures.
No one of this Earth, in any case.
I begin to grow weary of this cat and mouse chase and decide it's time for me to trap my prey. Swiftly, in a motion that barely ruffles my feathers, my glorious blue wings burst forth from my back and I am airborne. Such a wonderful feeling, to fly through the air with the wind upon my face like a lover's caress.
Concentrating on my task, I overtake my prey. I found the perfect little clearing for our chat and throw the scrolls on specific trees to create a net. I land softly on the wet grass as my wings disappear and I wait. They appear seconds later and I seal them in with a flick of my hand. The young man with a human on his back hit the barrier first and was flung backwards with a thunderous bang. It must have hurt the human's ears.
I step out into the clearing and watch passively as the three dark ones examine the girl. She notices me first and gasps in horror and points in my direction. Three heads snap in my direction but I only recognize one face.
"Tsk, tsk. I should have known you'd be unable to resist the temptation of flesh for so long, my old friend."
Carlisle hissed, crouched in his defensive position. "Tsubaki."
"I can't say that I thought you would have forgotten but it's nice to make an impression."
"What do you want? We haven't broken any laws!"
"No, you haven't." I said slowly as I took a step towards the trio of Vampires. In a flash almost too fast for Vampires to catch, my gun was in my hand and aimed at the blond man. "Not yet."
I pulled the trigger.

Ah, yes...I know it was evil of me to end it there. Why does she have a gun? Will the bullet do some damage to Carlisle? Will he die at the very beginning of the story???
You'll have to wait for Chapter 2. ^. ^ I'm evil: P
Now, before my inbox bursts into flames with lots of emails about Japanese culture, I'm going to say this right now. I am not Japanese. I am purebred European since the beginning of time. What I have learned of the Japanese culture is through my own research. If I get something horribly, horribly wrong please let me know and I will fix it immediately. Thank you.
Please feel free to review with comments, be they raves or criticism. I want to know if there is an audience for this story. Thank you again!
