Disclaimer
(Unfortunately) I don't own anything to do with the Twilight Saga. Nor do I make any money from this. But let's take a moment to praise and worship at the feet of Stephanie Meyer who did.
A/N
Well i'm going to just put the prologue out there to see if anyone is actually interested in reading it. Reviews are encouraged greatly for this : good and bad ones. Hope you enjoy :)
Prologue - Jacob's POV
The instance the thought ran through my head, he tensed up. But the leech knew I was right, of course I was right. I thought it again.
Hey bloodsucker, maybe Bella doesn't have to choose ... maybe she could have both of us.
I knew he wouldn't attack me for thinking this, not with Bella's frail human body curled into mine. I squeezed my arms around her tighter and a small sigh escaped her lips as she slept, completely unaware of our silent conversation. His eyes spun to her and I could see him mulling over the unspoken idea I presented to him.
I bit my lips to stop myself from saying or thinking too much more, I wanted him to think about it. I needed him to at least consider it. And of course he would, he'd have to, in order to really give Bella what she wanted, because deep down the bloodsucker knew that she was in love with me too.
It felt like hours had passed before he spoke.
"She would never agree to it."
I rolled my eyes. "You are really underestimating the power of human hormones Cullen. You must be walking about with your eyes shut if you've missed the way she looks at you ... the way she looks at me."
His fists balled up as I said the last part, but he needed to hear it. Everyone in the tent knew that she wanted both of us, and I thought it was about time that someone threw some suggestions out there.
"There would need to be certain ... conditions, if this were to go ahead." He didn't look at me as he said this, but I nodded for him to continue anyway.
"Firstly, if Bella doesn't want this, then that's it. End of story and end of all those invasive thoughts that are constantly running through that perverted mind of yours.
Second, Bella makes all the decisions here. If she doesn't want you to kiss her then you will not kiss her. If she says stop then you will stop. Hell, I don't care if she tells you to put on a blindfold and go running through the woods naked, you will do what she says."
I smirked. "And what if she wants you to go wait outside while I do all the work?"
"Thirdly," he ignored me completely, "I can't stress enough how careful we would both need to be with her. The slightest feeling of anger could make you blow up and grow four legs ... and all I need to do is forget my strength for one second and I could accidently crush all the bones in her body.
And finally ... we need to put all feelings aside tonight. No jealousy, no anger, no nothing. We want this to give Bella everything she's ever wanted, not to want to rip each other apart and accidentally hurt her in the process. Are we clear?"
"Crystal." I whispered as I tucked a strand of loose hair behind Bella's ear. "So who's gonna tell her?"
Edward cringed slightly. "I don't think that this is a situation where I can actually get the words out to tell her."
"Maybe we don't have to tell her ..." my words were enough for him to get the idea as the images began rolling through my mind.
He considered it for a second, and then began to move towards Bella. By the expression on his face I knew that she was the only reason that he would ever agree to such a thing.
I can admit that this is where he was the bigger man; he didn't want Bella to have to choose between us, he just wanted her to be happy ... bloody noble prick. I wanted her to be happy, but at the same time I wanted to rip his head off his stone cold shoulders so that she would have to pick me. Selfish, I know, but I wanted her ... so bad.
I watched him hesitantly as he reached over and cupped Bella's face in his hands. He flashed me a cocky smirk as be bent down and slowly begun kissing her.
She quickly awakened and automatically answered his kisses with her own. I began to wonder if it was weird that I was watching when she suddenly stiffened, obviously realising that my warm arms were still around her body as the bloodsucker's cold lips touched hers.
"Edward! Can't this wait ... I mean, Jacob is right here ... this isn't fair ..." she stammered.
I stroked the back of my finger across her cheek as I looked over at Cullen. His golden eyes stared back into mine as he nodded once.
Well, I thought, better now than never. I touched my fingers to Bella's chin, tilting her head up to mine as I leaned in, and kissed her. Not a delicate slow kiss like the way he kissed her, but a passionate heated kiss ... something he could never do with her.
Her lips froze against mine and she suddenly broke apart from me. Her face was red and she looked in shock as her head spun around to look at Edward.
The look on her face was absolutely priceless as he smiled at her and moved his lips to her the base of her neck.
Her expression made me laugh as I traced my fingers along her wet lips.
"You're the one that wanted us to get along, remember Bells." And I kissed her again with all the passion my body could muster, knowing that tonight was going to be a long and interesting night.
