At Long Last

A/N:  From Twelve Sharp, my version of what should have happened at the end of chapter sixteen.

Prologue (i.e. setting the stage)

A man is out to kill Ranger and replace him.  He has already kidnapped Rangers young daughter and he wants to add Stephanie as the mommy in his “happy little family” scenario.

Morelli and Ranger have both decided to move into Stephanie’s apartment to protect her.  Stephanie knows that two (armed and dangerous) men, one bed, a couch that is too small for anyone, and no one willing to sleep on the floor…is a recipe for disaster.

In an attempt to escape the situations, Stephanie climbs out her bedroom window to go to her parent’s house.  Tank sees her trying to leave and informs Ranger.  Stephanie is met at the bottom of the fire escape by two angry and sexy as hell men.

Each man grabs an arm and hauls her back upstairs.  Both are furious with her lack of self-preservation and decide that she must be disciplined and shown where her place is, in their new reality.
