Chapter 1
Kalona landed outside the school in a tree. He looked around, he wanted to see if he could see Rephiam. His curiosity had gotten the best of him. He let Rephiam go and allowed him to make his own choice. It was only a few days ago, but Kalona wanted to know more, he wanted to see why he had made the choice he did. Someone else caught his eye though, he noticed Zoey running to one of the school cars. Kalona watched closely as she threw a backpack in and closed the door. The immortal watched her drive off, Kalona flew up and followed her.Zoey pulled into the drive way, she took in a deep breath. And got out, Zoey walked up the steps and rang the door bell. Kalona hovered just out of her vision. Zoey knew that there was no turning back now. The door opened “John.” Kalona watched her, the fledgling had covered up her markings “are you here to see that bitch you call a mother? If so, she's not here, she's with your witch of a mother.” Zoey felt more anger purse through her, it was still early morning, but she knew Kevin and her sister had already left.
“no, I came to talk to you.” Kalona watched Zoey, she reached into her purse. “about what?” he asked “What could a servant of the devil like your self want?” Kalona was shocked when Zoey struck the man on the side of his head. The immortal watched Zoey drag him back over to the car, that’s when he made the choice. Zoey froze when Kalona landed in front of her. The fledgling saw the smile on his face, “this is such a shock my a-ya” he said with a grin “what the hell are you doing here.” “i saw you leaving the school in such a hurry earlier, I was curious to see where you where off to.” Kalona looked down at John. “well, you know, now get lost.” she said “i think you need a little help.” Kalona said “no, I am perfectly capable to do this on my own.” she spat “i don’t think so” Kalona lifted up the mans legs. “i see that you need a bit of help.” why? So you can observe everything and then use it against me later on?” Kalona chuckled “of coarse not, why would I do that to you?” he said with a sadistic grin. “I don’t know, that weird little smile might have something to do with it.”
“i can sense something stirring in your heart.” he said “look, if you are going to help me, then put him in the trunk and then leave.” she said, Kalona grinned “alright then” Kalona walked over to the car and she watched him set the unconscious man down in the trunk. “thank you.” she said. Kalona flew up into the sky, he stayed just beyond her line of sight as she got back into the car and drove off.
