Chapter 12 ~ Grotesque

The stench of death mixed with the nauseating smell of garbage as I looked down at the deceased, whoever it was probably in in a very painful way. There face had been literally torn off and it seemed as if someone had bore a hole through the persons chest.

"Bruce help me prop the body up"

Bruce nodded as he went to the opposite side of the corpse, we propped it forward as I saw the internal organs on the opposite side. Whatever had done this had to be strong, to place this much strength to push a majority of the organs through this persons side. From the skeletal features I presumed it was a man, his clothes had been torn to shreds. Bits of leather, blue jeans and white cotton were spread all over. Though now most of the scraps of clothing that were close to the deceased were soaked in scarlet, the real color of blood if the 'kill' had been done in the near span of five hours.

I turned towards Bruce as I nodded, we placed the body back in place. I checked the bite marks with my metal ruler and they seemed to be in the right intervals for a vampire attack, you never could be sure in this city. Awhile back there were a few copy cat vampire wannabe's. There one mistake was that there bite marks weren't proportional to the canines that would match most vampire marks. There were two marks total, one on each side of the neck. Though they seemed to be made by the same vamp. I stood up as I took a step back, my gloves covered in blood but that didn't matter. It was the smell of death and garbage that was getting to me, jeez.

"Your going to have the forensics specialist take a look at the body right? I can't tell much from whats left of him."

Bruce nodded, I took a glance at our side and a small crowd had gathered a few feet from the yellow tape that fluttered so lightly in the wind. Why people would gather to see a police investigation was beyond me, hell ignorance truly was bliss. Most of the time.

"Yeah, the pick up team should be here any moment."

Then it he, Be, Bianca had mefew few friends here last night. She might have seen something, though in the back of my mind I even suspected tit cit could have been her. Yeah my best friend is a vampire, but a vamp is a vamp at heart. I just hope she could prove me wrong. Having to kill your best friend isn't a good way to end a friendship.
