Chapter 12
When they got to the house, Alice was the first one inside. She bounced into the kitchen where Esme waited. When Esme asked how the day went Alice was the first to answer. “It was good. I’ve got a ton of homework to do though. I think I’m going to have to use a stick to keep all the girls off Jasper.” She said with a grin and kissed Esme’s cheek. She turned to bounce up the stairs and kissed Jasper on the way. Esme just laughed.
“Well she is certainly going to bring some life to this family. So how did it go for the rest of you?”
“It was ok.” Edward answered. “I will say, I’m getting awfully tired of being a sophomore though.” He turned to Jasper. “I think I ought to warn you though, Jazz, at least two guys are going to ask Alice out tomorrow. You two need to figure out what you are doing. I’m not trying to push I just don’t want you to snap and kill some kid over a date.”
“I know.” Jasper responded. “We are going to talk some more tonight.” Esme smiled at him and Edward nodded.
“Okay, Rose, honey, Em? How about you two? How was your day?”
“I hate taking gym.” Emmett said and everyone laughed. Emmett was into competing. It didn’t matter what kind but it drove him crazy to act like a human in gym class.
“The girls have no taste in clothes at all.” Rosalie sniffed. “I swear.”
“Jasper, honey. Take this up to Alice. I’ve read that a snack after school is good.” Esme handed Japer a plate with a sliced apple and a glass of juice. He nodded happy for an excuse to see Alice again, threw his book bag over his shoulder and headed up.
Alice had the radio softly playing and had her books spread out on her bed. She was working on her math homework. She looked up as Jasper entered. “Esme sent you up this snack.” He told her putting the stuff down. “When do you want to talk, cause I’m ready to kiss you again.”
Alice smiled softly. “Let me finish my homework and then I’m all yours. Okay?”
“Sure. You mind if I do mine in here too?” He asked, his breath speeding up at the suggestion that she was his.
“I’d like that.” They smiled at each other and then continued their work, Alice occasionally asking Jasper to explain something.
Jasper was doing his homework but he couldn’t stop looking up to see what Alice was doing. She was eating the apple slices without even noticing what she was doing. Her mouth turned down slightly in a frown as she tried to understand the history lesson she was reading. He smiled slightly.
A couple hours later and her homework was all finished. She closed the last book and threw the notebook to the side before looking up at him to find him watching her. He cocked an eyebrow as a way of asking if she was done. “Yes, I’m finished now.” With that said within two seconds all of her books and notebooks were packed neatly inside of her backpack and he was watching her again. “I wish I could do that.” She said wryly.
“Alice, what do you want from me?” Jasper asked seriously.
“I don’t know. I feel a connection to you. I know from my visions that we are meant to be together. I feel like I’ve been waiting on you all my life. Does that sound stupid?”
“Not at all,” He answered with a smile. “I feel the same.”
“Good, now with that said, I don’t know what I’m ready for yet. I know I was jealous today when any girl even looked at you.”
“I have never noticed any human before you. I have never felt what I feel when we touch.”
“You told me yesterday that things can be…pleasurable,” Alice choked on this last word, “between men and women. That has not happened in my experience but the reaction my body has to you tells me that maybe you are right. I do know that if I ever experience that pleasure I want it to be with you, Jasper Hale. I just don’t know what I’m ready for yet.”
“Alice, I have known that you are the one for me since you came sliding around that corner to see us. You were so brave and sweet it knocked me off my feet. I knew right then, I would do anything to protect you and anything to be with you. You are my mate. My soul mate. You are the woman I am meant to love for all eternity. We have forever. I can wait until you are ready. Are you at least willing to let me court you?”
“By court, you mean…?”
“Date. Are you willing to at least be my girlfriend? We can take the rest as slow as you want. Just let me hold and kiss you.”
Alice responded in the only way she could, she leaned over and kissed him. He instantly ran his hand up her arm and back into her hair. His coolness felt so good against her heated skin. She was always hot so it seemed like he was the perfect man for her. He slowly pushed her back with his weight. He continued kissing her but was careful to lay to the side so that she would not get scared. He couldn’t get enough of his pixie and the way she was moving against him, she felt the same.
Finally, slowly, and with a grin he pulled back and licked his lips. “So does that mean you are my girlfriend?” He asked.
“Of course, dork.” She responded. She moved to lay her head on his chest and they began talking. They talked until Alice’s stomach growled that she needed dinner. They talked through dinner and into the night until she fell asleep against him.
