Chapter 16 ~ Business
After the shock of having the most powerful vampire sitting across from me finally faded. Yeah right. My eyes switched from the face of Bianca to Lilith. Biawas was wearing a blue jeans, converse hightops and a black t-shirt that expressed her chest area. God help me don't let it come around now. Lilith on the other hand was wearing a crimson colored post victorian dress, the type that you see in one of those hollywood musicals the neck line was cut extremely low showing alot of her chest. Her skin the color of smooth pearl, Lilith's entire body was finished off by the long dark brown hair that travelled to the small of her back. I never did see her face, it was a big no no when dealing with vampires. Why I did it with Bianca, it was because we were friends. Though now I was thinking of changing that. God so help me this wasn't fair. Then again life never is. After lying there and successfully controlling my hormonal urge, thinking of many unpleasant things helped in that area. I slowly sat up, my eyes locked firmly on the ground. My voice slightly trembled as I spoke. I was cold, the fact that my best friend invited the master vampire over to my place didn't phase me. Really."Bianca... why is Lilith here?"There was a slight pause, it seemed that she was looking over to Lilith, but with my eyes locked upon the ground. I could only see a vague image of her head moving, I guess Lilith nodded to say that it was alright for her to tell me. "Because she wanted to talk to you and she knew that I knew were you lived."Ah that made it so clear now, I was hoping we were going to have a cocktail party and then play twister for the rest of the night. Damn.Lilith spoke, her voice as soothing as silk. It felt poetic to my ears yet this was most likely a mind trick, though she was the master of this city. They had infinite years to practice whatever they wanted."I'm here to discuss the slaying that happened near the Masquerade last night"Ah ha now I'm getting somewhere, though why wasn't I happy to discuss it here?."What would you like to discuss?"Talking to someone else while your staring at there feet really is hard, when your used to looking at there face. It just didn't feel like a conversation. Then again in this moment it sucked to be me.Lilith laughed, it felt so soothing and inviting, I almost wanted to look up to see her facial expression. I still kept my view looked upon her feet, and they say guys don't have any self control. At least I wasn't staring at her breasts."I assure you Jacob, you can look up. I won't try to enrapture you tonight, my word is my bond.""You promise?"Gah, the words slipped out before I had even thought. I was questioning the master of the city on wether she could keep a promise. Sometimes I wonder why I'm still alive.I heard her sigh, bad sign."Yes I promise, now can we continue. Having you stare at my feet while we talk isn't very impressive for the Slayer."Slayer? The vampires had given me a nickname, I didn't know that. Cool. There would be time to rejoice in my new found alias, I slowly looked up at Lilith's face. Her crimson eyes were just normal human eyes. They fit perfectly with her semetrical face, though they excentuated her natural or was it unnatural beauty?"Are you done yet?"snapsnapped out of my stare, shaken and embarressed that I had stared at the master of the city. It was just that I had never seen Lilith's face before, we've met a few times in the past but that was because of offical STF business on earlier murder cases that involved vampire attacks."Sorry""All is forgiven Jacob. Now lets get down to business..."For some reason that didn't help me when she said that, not one bit.
