purpleranger76: Thanks for the review. Here's the first battle between the two sides.

"You better not get yourself killed, you've still got a child to help raise y'know," Shazarraah said.

"And hopefully more than one at that," Edmund said with a smile.

"If I keep missing all these battles because you keep me pregnant then I will surely have to consider why I married you," Shazarraah quipped and Edmund smiled at his wife and kissed her.

888

There they go," Susan remarked as the army went northward towards the northern wastelands to once go to war.

"Yes, and now," Jadis said and pointed her wand skyward and concentrated. For several moments, a silver, translucent dome appeared around the castle, which soon disappeared.

"what was that?" Shazarraah asked.

"Only those loyal to my High King and Aslan can come into the castle. The Emerald Witch will have to knock that ward down in order to get in, and, if she does that, she will be so weakened that she'll be useless to Tash," Jadis explained and Shazarraah smirked.

888

The army of giants, being lead by The Green Lady and and Tash, marched into the northern most part of Narnia. Tash smirked, seeing the large Narnian army before him.

"There they are, the Narnians and the Calormenes! Kill them all!" Tash ordered.

888

Peter watched how Tash used both his swords. It appeared that he didn't have a weaker side, which meant that Peter had to work doubly hard to make sure he wasn't run through.

"I see that your enchanted blade is not as impressive as it once was!" Tash growled.

Peter just grunted as he blocked one sword with his shield and the scimitar with his sword. He knew that his other sword would do him no good since it wasn't an enchanted blade.

888

"I've waited a long time for this," the Emerald Witch growled at Eustace and Jill. "For what you did, I shall kill you personally."

"You wouldn't be the first person that wanted to kill me," Eustace grinned and avoided a burst of magic from the witch.

888

The archers were the most important fighters within the army. They could deal better blows to the giants than the swordsmen. However, when the Calormene archers decided to set their arrows on fire, the giants, scared to death of fire, backed off to behind the front lines.

888

"I see your giants are cowards!" Peter taunted.

"Grrr, I didn't realize that they were smart enough to be afraid of fire," Tash growled.

"Face it, Tash, you can never defeat those that are loyal to Aslan!"

"Be silent!" Tash thundered as he tried to press the High King into the ground.

888

"You are awfully slow in your old age, or was it the fact that you had to be brought back from the dead that made you so slow? Still not feeling like your old, bad self?" Eustace taunted.

"Eustace," Jill hissed, hating that Eustace was using such a foolish strategy against the witch.

"Ahhhh!" she cried and transformed.

"Now Jill! Aim for the head!" Eustace cried. Jill did so, but the serpent backed off, feeling an arrow almost pierce into her skull.

"What's the matter? You were all ready to kill us before, are you scared of a couple of kids?" Eustace taunted yet again and the witch lunged, but got a belly full of sword from Eustace.

"Sloppy sloppy sloppy,, you left yourself...aaaahhhh!" Eustace shouted as Tash appeared out of nowhere and gave Eustace a blow to his skull, knocking him out. He growled, grabbed the wounded witch, and vanished to where the giants had retreated.

888

"Eustace, you idiot!"

Eustace groaned from the noise Jill's shout was making. His head was pounding and he wished the guy that was doing the hammering within the confines of his head would lay off.

"If you are going to yell at me, at least do it a little more quietly, my head is killing me," Eustace moaned out.

"I ought to kill you myself you dummy, why did you have to make her made like that?"

"Because, I didn't want her thinking up some plan to put us under some sort of spell. I wanted her clouded with anger and it almost worked if Tash hadn't shown up and beat me upside my head with his sword. I can't believe I'm still alive after that sword blow. I guess I'm tougher then I thought, huh Jill?"

She sighed, "Eustace, you lovable idiot," and she kissed him.

888

"Well, that went splendidly," Edmund said.

"Yeah, the only reason they retreated was because the giants were afraid of the flaming arrows," Peter remarked.

"Is Eustace ok?" Lucy asked.

"He'll be fine, the kid's got a head made of granite," Edmund joked.

"I'm going to have a problem dealing with this version of Tash. He's got two swords and he's not weak on one side," Peter relayed.

"He's able to use his left and his right arm without any noticeable weakness?" Lucy asked and Peter nodded.

"I am not sure if I can run him through at present, but Tash will eventually make a mistake and once he does, I'll end this, once and for all," Peter proclaimed.

"Doesn't feel right not having the others," Lucy said.

"Yes, but I'm not going to risk the lives of the children that they are carrying," Peter returned.

"Tell that to Shazarraah. I'm just glad I was able to convince her to stay," Edmund lamented.

Peter wiped at his sword and said, "I want this whole matter settled before the children are born. If they are born and this war is still going on, there won't be a safe enough place to hide them." The others nodded in agreement. They now had a more personal motivation to end this mess as quick as possible.

888

"Ahhhh!" Tash shouted. "These giants have no spine!"

"They are scared of fire," the Emerald Witch remarked.

"I'll give them something to fear if they don't shape up! I'm going to summon those dark creatures that were once loyal to Jadis. Hopefully, with those at my disposal we can actually gain ground on them," Tash fumed and the witch nodded in agreement. Apparently, this war wasn't going to be as easy as she thought it would be.
