Chapter 4 ~ Professional Calling
The alarm in my apartment sounded, the beeping was mercifically stopped as I slammed my palm against the snoozebutton, but that only caused the alarm to fall from its stand which in turn caused a loud crash as it disconnected from thewall... so much for a snooze. I gingerly got out of my warm comfortable bed, dammit why am I doing this to myself?... ohyeah I know why, its because I have to go to work. Vampire slayer extrodinaire and I have a day job, woo.Well after stumbling throughout my apartment in a sleep induced daze I was able to get in the shower, but as always I managed to bump my knee on the glass stall door. Causing me to swear and threaten the stall door with its life, why I keep on doing that who knows... You would think that after the hundredth or so time of this I'd learn... nope.It woke me up though, the pain and the shower. I was looking on the bright side of life and if this was the best my morning was going to get, someone was going to get yelled at... if not shot.Ah well there would always time to yell or shoot something in my line of work... but in the mean time what would I wear. Yeah before you think of anything perverse let me explain, I don't have to dress up in the black uniform like the rest of the police force. I just have to wear something presentable... thats my story and I'm sticking to it.Though after awhile I was able to dress myself, I'm a big boy I can do that... It was basically a black shirt tucked into some khaki pants and my favorite pair of boots, then again I only had one pair. To finish it off I strapped on my gun holster complete with my Browning HP 35, though I guess I had to wear a jacket. Walking to work with a gun clearly showing would cause a few problems, though it would make walking the crowded sidewalks much easier. It was a tempting idea, but being the civil servant that I am I decided on my leather jacket. Time to go to work, if you could only see the joy on my face.
