A second chance

Bella-

My body was burning. My lungs were filled with fire.
Everywhere I looked a red light blocked out my vision.
I tried to scream, but I couldn't hear my voice.
The pain invaded everyone of my senses.
As far as I knew, I was alone...
And I was dieing.

Jasper-

For the first few seconds after she screamed, I stared in shock.
I hadn't been shocked in a very long time. She was writhing and twisting, kicking and yelling.
I grabbed my phone out of my pocket. Carlisle was already on the other line when I opened the phone.
He was already on his way. Everyone already knew. "How do they?"
But I could already answer that question. 'Shes back Jasper. They both are.'
For a few seconds, I just stared at the wall.
Bella’s voice drifted away, into the back of my mind. Was she mortified? Was he furious?
Neither of them would understand. My feelings for Bella were real.
Did Edward still love her?
Did Alice….love me?
A minute had passed before I heard the front door open and then close.
It was Carlisle and Esme. I could smell Alice. She was not that far behind, coming up the pathway, Edward in the passengers seat. “Jasper.” Esme wrapped her arms around me. “Everythings going to be ok.”
Carlisle flipped on a light, and kneeled down beside Bella on the bed.
She wasn’t kicking as violently anymore, but her arms were straining against her sides.
I gritted my teeth. I felt horrible. I was the reason she was in this much pain.
“Shes changing. There's nothing we can do now. I’m going to get her on an IV. Give her morphine. I’m not sure it will do any good though. We have 3 days to wait.”
My mouth fell open wide.
Edward burst through the door, Alice on his heels.
“Bella! Oh my god…” He stopped just short of the end of the bed, before turning to me, and glaring.
“Jasper, how could you? What in the hell were you thinking?” I didn’t say anything.
I could tell, just at that moment, he sniffed the air and growled. “You Bastard. You slept with her.”
I braced myself. He was about to pounce.
Alice grabbed his hands behind his back and Esme flung herself in between us.
“Knock it off. Now. The both of you.” Alice chimed in.
“That isen't important right now. Whats important is us making sure that Bella gets through this as safely as we can help.”
Edward still didn’t take his eyes off of mine. I was glaring now.
“Im not going anywhere now. Im going to be here for her as long as she wants me around.
I’m going to be watching you.” Edward threatened. That hit a nerve. “You’re the one who left her.”
He pulled against Alice's hold. “YOU’RE THE REASON I DID!”
Just then Bella screamed.
Everyone completely forgot about our quarling and rushed to her bedside.
Alice grabbed her hand… I awkwardly looked up at her face and back down at Bella again.
My feelings were raw and open, lying out for her to see.
“I’m sorry Alice.” I whispered.
“Jasper, I understand. We aren’t together anymore. I’m not offended.”
“Esme watch over her, while I run to the hospital. I need to get some supplies.”
Carlisle announced and suddenly he was gone.
“My love. I’m so, so sorry…” Edward kissed her forhead, putting his against hers.
I snarled at him. “Don’t touch her.” He ignored me completely and took her hand in his.
She whimpered and twitched away from him.
“Calm down. We don’t need this right now do you hear me? This is not the time or the place.”
Esme looked at me sternly. I nodded.
“But this isent over. It’s not even close.”
