Chapter 5: Plans Made
Catti-brie found her foster father sitting on the edge of the bed, studying the lamp with a slight smile around his lips. Surprised to see him in such a rarely good mood, but never the less not giving it much more a thought, she gladly accompanied him as they walked down for the first meal of the day.
During the breakfast, Bruenor told that there had been a few problems with a group of yetis that had taken shelter close to the dwarven mines. Nothing to care much about, but he had started to get annoyed by receiving one report after the other, and now wished to be rid of them. as as it was no more than five or six yetis, only a small, yet effective, group was needed, he added with a smirk, casting a glance at Catti-brie and Drizzt. Both human and drow nodded their acceptance, though being more than a little surprised, and before long, they were out on the road.
“Do ye think ‘tis a miss o’ his that we didn’t take care o’ the yetis yesterday?” Catti-brie asked as they walked in a slow pace.
Drizzt shrugged.
“I don’t know,” he said. “It’d surprise me, but Bruenor properly wanted to save them for a time when he’s bored, and it turned out that he was more bored of the reports than fond of fighting...”
Catti-brie mimicked the black elf’s gesture.
“Sounds possible,” she admitted. “Odd fer me da’, but possible... On the other hand, there’re probably more goblins within the mines than out there...”
Drizzt paused, frowning.
“Are you saying that in he’s really keeping all the fun for himself?” he asked.
Catti-brie laughed.
“Nah, he wouldn’t do that. He’ll properly be chasin’ ‘em tagether, an’ then waitin’ fer us ta come home so we can clean ‘em out tagether...”

Bruenor cackled to himself, rubbing his hands together as his mind began plotting plans for the new design of Catti-brie’s room. It would mean that he had to take down the lamp again, but he was willing to make sacrifices in cases such as this... But if the work was to be done before the other two returned, he had to hurry.
Still muttering and giggling, he skipped down the hallway, mighty pleased with the joke he would pull off. If they did not wish to tell him, so be it, but he was going to show them that no one could keep secrets from Bruenor Battlehammer...
