One big mistake
A big mistake.Bella's POV:I was so mad I could'nt see straight from the tears in my eyes as I drove down the LaPush. I knew I was pushing my ancient truck to the limit but I didnt care. I kept replaying the scene in my head. Edward standing in the tiny doorway of Charlie's house with a stunned look on his face after I screamed at him and jumped in the truck. How dare he tell me I cant do something! I mean I understand that he loves me, and I love him, more than I ever thought I could love anyone. But Jake and his friends were not dangerous to me. I was not a vampire..yet, and Jake was my best friend. Edwards additude towards Jacob was not fair. He didnt understand how much I owed Jake. I was tired, mad, and just alittle bit sorry for screaming at him...but mostly mad.The drive down to LaPush wasnt long enought for me to have calmed down before I was pulling into the drive way. I saw that Jake's car was there and I slambed the truck into park and shut the engine off. I sat for a minute in silience and thought about the look on Edward's face as I left. Maybe I had overreacted just a little bit. I was just about to start the truck again when I saw Jake come around the side of the little garage and walk to the truck. I sighed. He looked so happy to see me."Bella" he cried "This is a surprise."I opened the door of the truck and he saw the look on my face. HIs face fell."What happened?" he was looking at the crease between my eyes and a cocky little smile played across his lips. "The leech?""Dont call him that" I said "and yes""He just is so infuriating sometimes!" I almost screeched.Jake's small smile widened "You two have a fight? I havent seen you this mad, like ever. Even with me." He chuckled."Come on, I have a fire going in the back yard you can tell me all about it." For once, he didnt put his arm around me as we walked around the garage. Maybe the look on my face said "stay away" We walked to a small sitting area made of two trees that Jake had cut down and turned into benches they made an L shape around a old metal barrel that at this moment was blaizing with red and gold flames.I sat down and took a deep breath. I was still so mad. Edward just didnt understand."So, are you going to tell me? I mean do you want to talk? I didnt figure you would drive all the way down here just sit outside." It was a little chilly outside and I closed my jacket around my chest. He was right. I needed to vent."Jake, he just is so overprotective. And it is so weird, I cant breathe when he isnt around, but he is smothering me when he is." "He doesnt want me riding my bike. he doesnt want me comming to see you. So many rules. He wont touch me, Jake. He wont trust me. He wont touch me, just kisses noting more. I know why, he doesnt want to kill me but I am ready." I saw the look on Jakes face and changed to a different ranting topic quickly. "He makes all these stupid rules and he wants me to marry him! I mean Yikes! I am just overreacting I know but I have never been that girl. The one who obeys. I know I hurt him when I left just now. We were talking about friends. He has so many. and I have only you. You are my only one true friend. Its not fair that he wants to keep me away from you. You would never hurt me. I know that. I just dont see why he cant trust me, my judgment. It stinks."I took a deep breathe and sighed.Jake had sat next to me on the tree seat and listened, his face getting darker and darker as I ranted my aggravations. He growled "Jealous bloodsucker." Then he turned to me and smiled. "You need to relax, Your safe here and you can stay as long as you need. I have something that might help you unwind some." He got up and walked away. He was back in a few minutes holding a bottle of what looked like an amber liquid.
