Unchanging Silhouette

(Nothing is changed much, starting from when they met. Edward still can't hear Bella's thoughts, the family is still (for now!!) J/A, R/E, C/E. (This WILL be a J/B story don't cry.)




EDWARD POV

We were all sitting at the usual table together, Emmett was telling Rose about this new video game he had to get, Rose was half listening, staring at her reflection in the window, of course.
Alice was preoccupied with Jasper, watching her eyes glaze over, then come back, over and over again. I didn't need to read her thoughts to see she was checking the future if Jasper slipped. He was aware, but rolled his eyes and started playing with the human food on his trey.
Suddenly Alice's vision caught my attention. I was confused at first, When i realized it wasn't about Jasper, instead, i saw me. Smiling, Happy...Laying in a field with a brown haired girl beside me. With brown eyes....Brown eyes!?!?! A human?! I looked at Alice, Who had the beginning of a grin slowly growing on her face, til she was grinning from ear to ear...Suddenly, I saw her slip back into a vision, but i didn't catch it all, she gave me a knowing smile, and i heard her think "finally..Edward deserves to be happy." and picked up her trey, threw out her food and left the cafeteria, with jasper following behind. Leaving me confused, and wondering who this human was...



ALICE POV
I couldn't help but check on Jasper, there was so much humans around today, and it's been a while since he's fed. I can't help but be concerned, so i kept checking the future for any possibility of him slipping. I saw a couple close calls, but nothing i should be too worried about. Jasper projected his annoyance but with some understanding, and i couldn't help but feel guilty, I love this man more than i can express. He's come such a long way...suddenly i couldn't see the cafeteria anymore, and i was in a meadow, no...i wasn't in a meadow, Edward was. Edward, he was smiling, laying beside a brown haired girl, she was pale, but clearly human. He had a gleam in his eyes i have never seen in him... Love. That's what it was. It was love. My happiness was rolling off me in waves, and i knew jasper would be wondering what was making me so ecstatic, Edward looked shocked. Worried, Confused. My brother was going to find love...Suddenly swept into another vision and this one was of me, and the brown haired girl sitting by a mirror, smiling, and she had golden eyes, like the rest of us. I beamed and thought to myself, and Edward, "Finally...Edward deserves to be happy". I got up to throw away my tray of uneaten food, with Jasper following curiously behind. Once we got out of the cafeteria and outside, i turned to him and kissed him. "Jasper.." I said. "I saw Edward happy. I saw him in love".
